Is it going to be like rares, exotics or precursors? Will they only be dropping in fractals, dungeons and wvw?

Anywhere you can get an Ascended Material drop or an Ascended item drop there is also a rare chance that you will get an Ascended Weapon chest that allows you to choose which weapon type you want from within a stat combo.

Rarer than exotics and more frequent than precursors I’d say.

This is pretty much spot on.

If you want a ascended weapon, you will after grind your kitten off…

At least all legendarys automatically get ascended stats…

Fractal dredges soon whine that they have too many ascended weapons and www players doing 300 ranks without getting anything. Basic gw2 stuff.
