So, my guild has just decided to get into raiding. I decided I’d start crafting with a view towards getting Ascended Zealots gear (I play a Druid raid-healer).
To my absolute dismay, when I log in today, collect my 10 laurels, and purchase the ascended armor recipes, I realise that something is wrong.

With a sinking feeling I go to check the wiki and after a frenzied search, discover that these recipes are impossible, not hard to get, flat out impossible to get a hold of without a time machine.

The real kicker is the Keepers Ascended Insignias that I have sunk over 200g into are worthless, flat out worthless.

Is it that far from the thought process at Anet that we could make these recipes available in some way other than from the Watchwork Marionette chest?

I discovered that a year ago or so and raised a support ticket for a refund but nothing happened. I hoped they would show up on the pact trading people but I think anet hates nice things.

As for the druid healing, you want to use Magi anyhow. For my auramancer, I made exotic zealot and that is perfect; ascended is not needed for healers. Once you get 1k heal power you have diminishing returns so try not to go past it.

Once you get going with it you can replace the cleric rings and earrings with zealot ones that you buy with shards. However, condi is ultimately better for Druids/Rangers. With my normal healing traitlines, I still get 1k bleeds. Staff does basically nothing and you want heals not dps when learning to raid. Even then, staff will allow the group to make more mistakes.

Right now the keeper’s insignia and inscription is basically worthless since it is the exotic that gets used for stat conversion.

I know, and I’ve invested +200g into them :’(

Think of it like that: if you’re going to use stat conversion on fractal-dropped ascended gear (something that was impossible when those recipes appeared), you will save much more than those 200 gold compared to crafting them directly.

I already have them though.. Why does Anet let us build something like that when it’s actually impossible to build it into anything?
