So the description of the forge says there is roughly 20% chance of getting item of higher quality and doesnt exclude ascended and legendary gear.

So my question is does this work for that type of gear. I know i already got exotic from forging rare so is there a chance of getting ascended from forging exotic and later getting legendary from forging ascended?

No. Ascended are not obtnaiable by forge, by combining 4 exotics, neither is legendarys by 4 ascended.

Throw exotics only wield a chance at get a precursor. (Wich value more than an ascended actually)

Mind you, precursor is not obtained as an upgrade from exotics. It’s just anytime you receive a random level 80 exotic, there’s a (really, really small) chance of it being a precursor.
