Ascended is only hurting PvP

i suppose, if your talking about just W3, but there were times when i was on a scouting mission to destroy supplies, and i 1v1’d quite a few people, or in the jumping puzzles that are in the W3 maps
Do you really think ascended gear makes that much of a difference? Only if players of equal skills are pit against each other. Of course, the short answer to this is “get that ascended gear yourself”. It’s not that hard after all, it just requires some time.

If you only ever follow the zerg, others roam solo / small group and shockingly enough encounter other solo / small groups, others do G v G (with equal numbers), ascended gear will increasingly make a difference as they add it to more slots.

sPvP= No vertical progression.
WvW= Slight vertical progression. ( exotc, ascended, legendary )

If you only ever follow the zerg, others roam solo / small group and shockingly enough encounter other solo / small groups, others do G v G (with equal numbers), ascended gear will increasingly make a diference as they add it to more slots.
For solo roamers i don’t think ascended or any gear is problem, thiefs and mesmer invisibility amd elementalist who CAN’T be killed 1v1 if player is good (at least he will run away) are much bigger issues for me.

Yes the escapability of certain classes is a problem, however is it a seperate issue and doesn’t alter the fact ascended gear will have an ever increasing effect.

i feel that after people spend so much time getting this ascended gear, Anet is going to come out with something in the expansion, or right before the expansion that makes Ascended gear @ 80 stupid easy to get

you don’t, eventually though ascended armor and weapons will come out, and likely will have its own special model….so you’ll know

Maybe when the armors/weapons do come out we could, but for now, there’s no way to tell. Skill easily bridges the gap between yourself and someone else with 5-10% better stats.

I see logic is not your strength, firstly I’m not getting killed, I’m barely settting foot in WvW as all I’ve been doing in GW2 lately is the daily. Secondly whether someone wins some because they are more skilled or loses others because they are less skilled, is irrelevant to the issue, ascneded gear will give an ever larger advantage as it is added to more slots, gear / stat differences make for crappy PvP.

ascended is meant for fractals, for pve it gives you 1-3% increase. for pvp it would be the same. calm down

Well there is a guy in another thread who states the 4 bits he has now give him a 7.6% increase in DPS over exotic, when you add in the other 10 slots and that weapons will apparently have 4 stats not three, it is a signifcant advantage.

Off the top of my head (Im sure it could be refined):
Make the Mists a central PvP hub for both WvW and sPvP. WvW follows the rules and balance changes applicable to sPvP. Thus, gear is free and equal. WvW players can use the armor and weapon skins obtained through sPvP. These armor and weapon skins would also be available though the upcoming WvW progression system.
WvW map completion would no longer be applicable to PvE due to this change. Badges of Honor would no longer be required to create a PvE legendary.
Platinum Chests would be added, which have a chance of containing a PvP precursor weapon.
PvP legendaries can be forged by combining:
PvP Precursor
Gift of Battle (750 Badges of Honor + Gift of Glory)
- Gift of Glory (Rank 50 Vendor for X Glory)
Gift of the Arcane (250 of each Arcane material)
Gift of Leadership (earn through the upcoming WvW progression system)

Thats 1.9% per peice, which is 19% dps increase for the other 10 slots eventually….which would be a total of 26.6% dps increase in full ascended
