Q:

Did my best to search the forums for answers, but it’s complicated with so many pages even when using the search option. Anyhow, I’ve a couple of questions about these new ascended gear:

1. Currently, you can’t infuse them, but somewhere on these forums I read a dev saying they would be infusable sometime (referring to amulets). If that’s so, using an infusion (slot one) would be wasting time and resources if we get the option to infuse (upgrade) it later since the slot infusion gets deleted, if we take on account that’s how rings work.

Are we ever going to be able to infuse them (amulets and earrings) somehow? And also, without losing the slot we’re using now?

2. Currently, you can’t use two rings of the same name (unless one is infused and the other not), does this apply to earrings as well?

P.S. It’d be very usefull to include information regarding this so players don’t waste time, resources and effort finding out by themeselves by trial and error. It can get very frustrating.

Thank you!

Lack of communication on Anet’s part regarding to ascended infusions is indeed frustrating.

On the bug section of the forums I’ve seen a dev admitting as a mistake that new rings added with february patch cannot be inherently infused, as the recipes are not available in MF. This might very well be the case with the amulets and earrings too, as GW2DB shows that (infused) counterparts of the items are already in the game, not just available to craft in mystic forge. It’s extremely frustrating for those who bought new rings for their stat-combinations and are unable to infuse them now.

As a layman I would think that adding the recipe to the forge for new items doesn’t require that much of a work for them. But what do I know. I for one, will save my expensive infusion until we can inherently infuse the item first.

Yeah, I agree. It seems waiting is always the best option.

Still, a dev’s answer would be great.

I do like this game a lot, but the horrific lack of information about gameplay mechanics and broken tooltips is very frustrating. I don’t want to dig through the wiki for everything just to avoid being screwed.

for there you have been and there you will long to return.

1 – You’ll use the 75 fractal infusions until you infuse the item.
1.1 – Eventually we probably will be able to infuse items besides the rings and back but anet probably wants to keep the rate of progression through fractals at a controlled pace.
2 – If it states unique, you can’t wear more than one.

Just make do with a simple infusion for now,
They make changes about once a week.. as they also move around ore nodes on the map each week!
You can use the same stats for rings or earings.. just get one that’s offensive and one that defensive. no big deal!

i think the biggest issue right now is the fact new rings can’t be infused. they exist in the game infused, but only able to be gotten out of the daily bag. this is ridiculous, and feels like lazy programming how this wasn’t fixed already. let them be infused just like any other ring… what is the problem?!

and the comment where people having 30+(infused) rings, 5000 relics and 100 pristine is completely true. for those that actually like fractals this is the way. the progression put in place went away mid 20 fractal level. once i purchased 2 rings i wanted, and then infused them… there was no need for any fractal loot other than the weapon skins, which has god awful drop rate in 30’s. and 40’s are painful even with 35 AR.

i appreciate you adding ascended gear for those that DONT do fractals… the point is to do fractals and get rewarded… if you don’t do fractals i don’t wan to hear you crying that you can’t get fractal loot. WTH?
instead Anet makes people who do fractals, keep up with silly daily’s and now guild missions. poor jewelcrafters apparently the progression for pve is ascended gear, gotten outside of fractals… huh, makes sense.
