Don’t get your hopes up for a refund on “+% gold” items. Even though they are changing the dungeon reward system, the “bonus” gold boosts still apply to drops throughout the game. The items are advertised as “+% gold from monsters” not “+% gold from dungeons”. They will still work as advertised.
Are they removing gold find or something in next patch?… Just curious because I did read they were removing magic find as an item stat sometime in the future but hadn’t heard anything about this particular patch

I would have easily taken the gilded over the one I actually took (mf). Coins do drop from random enemies in the open world. It’s not much but it does matter— it’s pretty trivial to recover the cost of omnomnom berry bars even in dead places like Cursed Shore now.

Consumer complacency at it’s finest. As long as there are brain dead users (not talking about you) out there willing to defend kitten “solutions” like one-time payouts, we can guarantee they will remain the status quo.
People got their Gilded Infusions and crafted/bought their Omnom Bars PURELY for dungeons. Trash mobs scattered throughout the game drop so little coin, the attribute is next to worthless. The only real value came from the dungeon mini-bosses (10s) and main-bosses (20s).
Hell, they could still implement their one-time payouts and just have it drop from the boss instead of being packaged in a chest and the attribute would retain its value, but it was far easier to copy and paste existing World Boss reward code than it would have been to code something specifically for dungeons. As a software engineer, this type of laziness is inexcusable. You don’t adversely impact your users and undermine a highly used component of the game just because you don’t feel like doing more work. How that idea even got past the FMEA model is beyond me.
Lets be honest. It is indeed disappointing they are removing the coin drop from bosses thus removing the point of gilded infusion. However, those of us who got it early definitely got a good use out of it during the time it was useful.
Although I wouldn’t mind a refund, I highly doubt anet would do it.

Gold Find, as of this next patch, is becoming useless. However, I’m quite sure Arenanet will figure that out and either compensate or make it affect something.
Why is Gold Find useless? Gold, in dungeons, is now received at the end only. Gold in the open world is never more than a few silver.
You didn’t lose anything. You just got a fix in your stupid dungeon farms.
The infusions are not obsolote by any way, they continue with it purpose. Works well in any mobs/monsters in the world, I can ensure you.

My gosh I thought it was only a few of you, but you thick-headed people are sprouting up everywhere. Did you all seriously time and effort to get the +20% gold gear for the unsavory hobby of exploiting dungeons??? Did you really think that’s why it was implemented? Clearly the rewards in this game are getting too thin, because people aren’t even thinking anymore with shinies on the brain.
It still adds up over the course of the game’s life. I have one on my Guardian and will still use it after the update. You have to have the foresight to know when something can easily be changed when you make a decision to purchase something.
