So I’ve come to the conclusion that if I don’t freak out and maybe plan things just right, I can get some ascended gear from doing what I enjoy most, WvW, without feeling that I’m caught in some horrible grind.

My main concern is, can I just save up badges and karma or are they going to introduce another currency where I will need to start at ground zero?

Who knows, but I highly suspect that they’ll use BoH for WvW-obtained ascended gear when it comes.

They havent stated when and how it will be released. The only way is in dungeon atm.
Now if you go by speculation then there is no way they would release the 1st slots until the 2 or 3rd slots/releases have been made available.
That way the grinders are given the credit of having it – showing it off and the advantage in WvW.
Then they release the 1slots to the non uber grinders so they dont complain and fall behind too much.
1st slots have been released when they release the next slots is unknown.
