one of reason i play this game is because,there is no gear barrier,you level character to 80 and there are different ways to get exotic gear,through crafting or dungeon or karma or buy them off trading post, pretty easy but instead we got legendary weapons if you are hard core player. this is make the game fair for everyone casual or hard core.
well not anymore, this game changing direction slowly toward gear grind which is pretty much a traditional game play,remember when they said"we are offering different game play"now what is the matter with ANET.
getting ascended through crafting only, is not fair,and boring or even frustrating for casuals particularly.
ANET please get back on what you promised,let it be gear progression,its fun but make as easy to get as it is for exotic,this game is not RIFT the game i left exactly because of hard core gear grind.

Play the game your way. <— This is what RIFT is and they dont have to say it, people know when they play.
Hardcore gear grind yes.
BUT..
The grind is for doing things you like most.
If you love Dungeons grind it all out and you’ll maxed it out without even touching Pvp.
If you love Pvp then Warfronts/Conquest it is to max out your pvp stats where no one in BiS Pve Gear could kill you in Open World Pvp.

Its all about what you like doing most and not forced to do what you hate.

The numbers dont lie, ascended is a lot stronger than exotics and soon you will see the difference. It’s a matter of time before content will be scaled to ascneded adn you will have problems with things like Liandra or other stuff not to mention WvW where current change makes you loose 13% of dmg (and there will be more when armors will go out) so its a vast abyss between gear.
