You guys clearly did this MF change so gear drop rates will be sooooo bad people will start buying GEMS for the +50% MF BOON. Allow me to explain.

“Each Essence of Luck will contribute to your Luck Bar and each time the Luck Bar is filled it adds 1% overall magic find on all of your characters permanently, to a maximum of 300%.
After this change, magic find will come only from consumables, guild buffs, and utility infusions. In order to get everyone started on this new system, all current players will receive enough luck to get to +20% magic find.”

As you see above, your 135% or 125% MF is totally gone from your gear. You now start at what ever % you had for your account. I’m at 5% with my achievement chest. So i just lost 120% MF with my gear and rings. We have no clue how fast this “XP Bar” will go but im willing to bet it’s slow.

Ahhhhhh, now you see the kicker. THE FINAL piece can drop from guess what. Dungeons, Champ Kills, Mega Bosses etc etc. Ever kill a champ with no MF gear?. You get all blues and maybe a green if your lucky.

The part below is unreal….

“First off, crafting is not the only way to get Ascended Weapons! Anywhere you can get an Ascended Material drop or an Ascended item drop there is also a rare chance that you will get an Ascended Weapon chest that allows you to choose which weapon type you want from within a stat combo. And lastly, there is a new collection tab for Ascended Crafting materials that includes all the new materials and gives you a little peak at the additional materials coming later this year”

Thats right everyone!!!. Go out and get that Ascended Weapon with your 65% MF (If your lucky) and try for months to get that MF Bar up 1% at a time. Just to have a reasonable shot at having it drop. You see this MF is coming out at the perfect time to make getting T6 mats and T7 mats now harder to drop.

I have played literally 30 mins after the launch of the update. My magic find is at 30%, and I’m not trying. 300 will be nothing. Please play a bit.

When you do start trying you’ll realise that the cost ramps up very quickly, according to people who have done the maths getting 300% requires about 4.2 million luck.

Yeah maybe after 150 or so I played for 2 hours and just from wvw drops and one invasion I’m at 62%. A person in my guild is 137% not bad for one day….. People just like to cry about everything

when we had MF gear, we kitten our stats for a chance at better loot, now we get the chance at better loot without gimping our selves. also, don’t kid yourself, you already got more than your money’s worth from your MF set. and it never really disappeared, the gear is still there, only we get the option to switch it to a different stat set.

Got my new mf to 53%, but overall is 83%, i still have 20% mf from infused amulet and the rest i think from those achivement point chests, overall its a good idea at least all characters can now benefit from account mf

In all seriousness I had MF gear on 2 characters and I’m fine with this, get MF stats but not using the gear, why would I complain? lol.

I believe that the MF changes went in when they did because the LFG tool is coming with the next update. Imagine a full pug with everyone in MF. Now you understand why MF HAD to go before a LFG tool showed up.

I never ran MF before (aside from an infusion, and omnoms when doing events in Cursed Shore), because it’s a selfish stat; it makes your group work harder while you (and only you) reap the rewards. Because of this, I currently have 50% account MF, and am fully happy.

It seems the people who are here complaining today on the loss of MF gear are the same people who would have made everyone else’s lives miserable by running full MF in dungeons.

It’s a good change, and a needed change. Your rant looks like entitled nonsense to me.

Yeah, I hate the idea of having to have some kitten in all MF in my group. “Hey, can you guys carry me and do all the work while I get a bunch of loot? kk, thanks” I think MF as a stat on gear is dumb. It’s like, you wear gear with MF to get better loot, so you can get better gear, but you’re not gonna wear the gear because you want to get better loot…. head explodes.

This change was needed. You’re pretty much complaining about nothing. Boo hoo, you lost your magic find, now you start where everyone else is starting. So… you’re complaining about being equal to other players and earning your magic find again? I’m already at about 46% MF, and I played for about half an hour. And you know what? I ran max MF gear before this patch and barely received any drops, and when I did receive drops, they were total crap. After this patch with 46% MF, I’ve received about 4 rares and 2 exotics in HALF AN HOUR. Your complaints are unfounded.

Yep. MF bar goes up pretty quickly. All those blues and greens you are complaining about? Salvage for luck. MF goes up, get less blues and greens.

And the qq about needing drops to craft vision crystal: all those mats are guaranteed drops from the boss chests.
