Playing WvW the other day on the Eternal battlegrounds, I had a hard time targeting an Asura in a zerg. A few moments later a charr warrior is not that hard (as in: almost hard to not target a raging charr warrior on your screen) to target.

Just give it a thought. Arenanet states no race has influence on how good/bad a player is. But Asura are (especially when you make ’m as small as possible) horribliy hard to target in this fast combat and rumbeling battles!

what do you guys think?

The perceived advantage is pure visual. It has been already stated that their hitboxes are not smaller than, to say, a Norn. Unrealistic , but it was made for matters of balance.

Umm…Tab target? Problem solved.

Although, I admit there is an advantage in feel. I like the Norn and Charr, but they feel slow when you move and dodge. So much so that I can’t really play one. Sadly that means Stitch, Weeds and dirty Humans for me.

Smaller size is always an advantage in PvP. Imagine a Norn and Asura crouching for a kill shot. You won’t miss the Norn and probably won’t notice the Asura. Roll an Asura if you want to PvP in WvW. You’ll find that everything is better Asura—heck, even Rata Sum has a better layout (efficiency-wise) than any other city. They do everything better; it’s in their nature.

Their hit box and size box for targeting is the same as any other class. You can also tab target them pretty easily. However, the ‘real’ advantage is that their size makes their animation tells more difficult to read. You can get around this by staring at the screen really closely, however.

Still, it wouldn’t hurt if Asura were something like half a foot taller in general.

The hit boxes are the same, so no, there is no advantage in terms of targeting.

In terms of identifying skills/casts? Definitely.

I was doing a guild bounty over the weekend and I had to kill an asura in frostgorge sound).

This asura has the same pull animation as Kohler, but is extremely hard to see considering that the animation is much smaller than Kholer.

Well generally AoE is most important in WvW so size is irrelevant in that regard. Although personally I look for Asura because I can’t stand the little…

The hit boxes are exactly the same for all races/sizes (which sometimes causes you to take damage while you seem to be outside of the AoE but your hit box is still in it).

You do have a visual advantage though since it is more difficult to see what you are doing next. That’s why I always choose the smallest race/size available. :P

On the other hand if you are a tank looking bigger may give your team an advantage.

This guy knows what’s up. Targeting makes no significant difference, but trying to make out what a tiny Asura is doing as a max size Norn can be quite difficult.

This is why I play as human or norn only, because asuras are for players who have comparable mindset of someone who exploits the game for profit.
The WvWvW is doomed.

The advantage, as mentioned before, is seeing them, not targeting them. They have a disadvantage though too. Just try doing jumping puzzles with other races, especially during the frenzy of, say, mad king’s clock tower; with all the other larger bodies, it’s impossible to see precisely where you are, making it much harder.

Not only can’t the enemy see my Asura, I can’t either. Suprizingly this can be a problem for us short folks from time to time. But if I could name my Asura “.” and remove the health bar from the display that would be interesting. I could lie in ambush inside plants and then KAPOW. One shotted by an Asura thief and you never saw it coming. Really with all the AOE in WvWvW battles can anyone even see the enemy most of the time?

There are people in WvW? Ithought it was a magic place where people just ran round throwing AOE’s and bags rain from the sky
