Asymmetrical Gloves/Shoulders
Uhmm That is just your opinion a lot of people also like assymetrical designed items… there is a pretty good balance between symmetrical and Assymetrical armor pieces….
I’m with Armenthos on this one. I’ve had so many gloves or shoulder pieces, I’ve liked part of, ruined by asymmetry. The most recent ones being the Glacial Gauntlets.
Asymmetry isn’t necessarily bad. There are several asymmetric gloves that aren’t lopsided. Asymmetry doesn’t imply lopsided that is just what the artist decided to go with. Maybe they needed to avoid clipping issues with shields since it’s on the left hand …
My opinion is the only right one and everyone who doesn’t share my purely opinionated reasoning is wrong!
Or we could get a 2nd check box on gloves to choose which ones we want to display
… And development hell breaks loose once again
As a fan of Fashion Wars 2, I enjoy making my characters look amazing and when a new skin comes out, I often find myself seeing where I can use these on my characters. However, far too often, gloves and shoulders which are added are asymmetrical, and because of this, make the characters look fairly lopsided and “unfinished”. The most recent glacial gloves are really pretty, but on humans, one glove is longer than the other on males. Can we get more symmetry with our gloves/shoulders to make it nicer for our characters to look better.
YES PLEASE! I’m tired of my characters looking like they pulled their outfits out of the lost-and-found bin. There is only 1 example that I can think of where having mismatched clothing was admired: Michael Jackson’s single glove. With the frequency that mismatching happens in GW2, you would think that people around the world think this is a great idea, do it in their Real Lives, and aspire to it in their fantasy lives.
I frankly can’t imagine why Anet does it at all.
My opinion is the only right one and everyone who doesn’t share my purely opinionated reasoning is wrong!
Everyone is free to share their opinion. Since you don’t reply to anyone, I have to assume that you are replying to the OP. The OP never said anyone was wrong and is only suggesting MORE symmetry. He does not suggest getting rid of asymmetry altogether.
Although I would make that suggestion – if people think its such a great idea why don’t they do it IRL?
I like several of the asymmetrical gloves. That being said, I would definitely love to have more options when it does come to shoulder pieces and gloves having a more balanced appearance.
The only issue I have with the asymmetry in gw2, which can apply to a good chunk of armor, is it’s all right side asymmetry. By this I mean anything that is large goes of the right side. This bugs me to no end. For example: Braham’s new outfit, Medium Legendary Shoulder, or, as OP said, the glacial gauntlets. They all have the larger design on the right side. There are also a bunch of leg cloths/armor that cover only the right leg or designs that add more material to the right side. This annoys me as it’s not something I could do irl without feeling “wrong”. I’m not saying asymmetry is wrong. Just having an option to switch items from right to left and visa versa would be much appreciated.
