I’m with ya here. Not sure why they haven’t made it so you can filter by armor type. That has to be one of the easiest lines of code you could possibly add that would make things soooo much better.

I totally agree, any other mmo that I have ever played has allowed you to filter by armor type so why not this one?

Some categories are misnamed and there’s also a few categories which exist, but aren’t available in the list for you to select. Searching by armor type is and isn’t an easy task. The TP currently doesn’t know about those types, so that option won’t be available unless they link the TP and items API.
It’s possible to improve the TP yourself. Everything you want can be done. /rumor ~ It’s a mystery
Also, an option to filter by profession is hidden away in the TP. It’s just not usable and doesn’t do anything.

Thanks for the “under the hood” information. Cool stuff I didn’t know. Hopefully they come around to updating it.
I was curious if anyone has heard rumors about updating the BLT. I am not even looking for a massive overhaul, just simple filters.
Primarily:
-Filter armor types
-Items in proper categories (weapon upgrades is empty, but all the sigils are displayed under all)Just curious if there are rumors or mentions anywhere of some tweaks to help ease the use of finding items here.
The armor type filter alone would be a massive improvement.
I’d actually like to see a performance increase. The BLTC loads way too slow, at least on my end.

The first time you open the TP, awesomium, the program that’s used to render the webpage in-game has to “boot up” which can take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute. There are a few ways they could speed this up and/or remove the wait entirely, for example, by preloading it on login. After that initial load, you should be able to browse the TP as fast as a normal webpage. Since it is just a webpage, it’ll never load any faster than that – there will always be a slight delay between page transitions.
I’m sorry Anet but it needs a massive update, it is just so horrible, slow and clunky to use. There needs to be more filters for things like armour type (Light/Med/Heavy) and maybe under the level bracket option, a cost option. So you can search for level 70-75 rare heavy armour costing between X and Y.
Oh and there needs to be a simple ‘Back’ button.
