AGAIN? ARE YOU kittenING KIDDING ME?

You refuse to bring some features from GW1 proclaiming this is a new game and that you wanna try something new and yet again, you are giving gifts based on character’s age and not on account’s age??? And minis? Again?

Arrgh, There’s no emoticon for what I’m feeling!!!

Personally I find it weird that races other than humans are getting a mini queen jennah as a birthday gift. Wouldn’t it be more appropriate if they get a mini related to their races? Like a mini trahearne for sylvaris. I’m sure they would love that! :O

Also I would’ve liked a cool toy better than another mini, like the balloon/kite/musical instrument/rose bouquet or whatever. Or a toy caladbolg that i can use in costume brawls.

It’s tied in with the current lore. My guess is the birthday gift isn’t coming from Anet but from Queen Jennah herself, to celebrate her ten years ruling. And since all the races have representatives there, it’s not really lore breaking to me.

I don’t really mind getting a queen jennah, i like her dress a lot. About Jennah giving out the gifts I kinda equate that to a celebrity handing out autographed pictures of themselves expecting the recipients to like them, which I find a bit egotistic. I’m not questioning its relation to the lore though, I was actually just joking about the whole thing. It does make sense the way you explained it though.

I just would’ve liked it better if other races get something more appropriate for them since jennah isn’t exactly everyone’s queen. A mini pale tree perhaps would be nice, but trahearne is just so much more controversial hahahaha. Asura can get a mini golem (which we don’t have enough of /sarcasm), charrs a mini rox, and norns, one of their elite spirit form skills.. Just ideas that I wanted to throw.

I’d love to see a mini Tranhearne that every now and then says aloud “This won’t end well.” What a great way for Anet to troll us. lol

I think they made the mini queen jennah specifically for Logan Thackeray.; to keep him motivated. I’m sure it’s exactly the kind of toy he wanted.

@Vayne: LOL a mini trahearne spouting lines every once in a while would be hilarious.. I can see it now: GLFM for COF p1. Those who summon a mini trahearne WILL be kicked.

What about characters that are made in winter/spring etc? By that time QJ won’t be in the middle of the lore I guess. So it would make more sense to give presents according to races.
Or how did this work in gw1? (I didn’t play on that game) For example if I make a character on let’s say 10th of september this year, then will I get a QJ mini on sept. 10 in 2014 as my “first birthday present”?

You said “before gw1”. Can’t compare games released in late 90’s or very early 2000 when it comes to gameplay/reward and whatnot.

Why not? I just did. And I’ll do it again.

“EverQuest was much bigger than GW2, had a whole lot more to do, and still wasn’t as good.”

Because its a completely different mindset. Gaming industry evolve (or downgrade from your yearly CoD spam) with time because they know what people are looking for and what people are looking for changes with time.

Actually, this is completely true and I agree with you 100%.

People are looking for something different than they were looking for five years ago. The problem is, you associate what you specifically are looking for with what “people” are looking for.

Just to guess, I’d think your IQ is far higher than the average, and that you’re far more competitive than the average person, making what you’re looking for different than the majority (which by definition is average).

I agree with it, it’s just I don’t think most MMO producers know what they’re doing. I think they just look at what has worked and try stealing from it. I know ToR had a lot going for it but I heard so much about how they mucked it all up . . . not to mention legions of WoW would-be-killers around the time of the original GW.

And I don’t think the majority is average by definition, as it really depends on how you choose to think of the average. If it’s a bell curve distribution, sure that fits. But a bell curve is only a depiction of one variable at a time, which is a limited view of things. Even applying that curve’s results overlapping other “graphs” only gets you a very small subsection of the players as “the average”.

That’s right, taken this way to a semilogical extreme? The “average player” is actually a minority at the game. There are real people who conform to what “the average player” is, but you’ll find more often than not any given player is not quite so average. Getting caught in the trap of thinking of people as “the average player” until proven otherwise through something remarkable? That’s something to keep an eye out for.

Of course, all this is me babbling into a text screen for a little while at 6 in the morning waiting for my laundry to dry. There may be a point here but it’s largely on accident.

I believe:

- The Queen minis aren’t a big deal.
- The watchknights don’t look so bad.
- WvW can be a blast if you stop stressing over your standing against other servers and just play.
- CoF1 is overrated
- Zerker gear isn’t the perfect solution for everyone.
- Living Story has the potential to get better.
- /Report should be used sparingly on people who harass you.
- Ascended gear isn’t a phenomenal problem yet.
- Guild Missions are too expensive to work on, but fun to do.
- Quaggans taste like chicken.
- Stacked up against Prince Rurik, Trahearne isn’t as terrible a character.
- Stacked up against Mad King Thorn, ANYONE is a terrible character.
- Tequatl the Sunless needs breath mints.
- The Home Instance needs some further development.
- This is still a better story than Twilight.
- If the game starts to feel not-so-fun, I can always play X-Com: TFTD. And lose. Again.

How can you possibly lose in X-Com: TFTD?

Unless by losing you mean giving up after searching every room on every gigantic ship for that final lobsterman…

. . . get Lobstermen before March and Tasoths before April. Or, alternatively, lose real badly on a Colony Attack or Artefact Site. Trust me, there are ways to lose the game, or at least get into a situation where you will lose due to the amount of equipment/personnel losses you rack up.

GW2 gamers seem to be the most entitled of all.

We get new content and QOL patches every 2 weeks. Yet it seems you guys want a free expansion.

No we don’t.

We get the same content patch every week just reskinned and we still to this date have not had 1 decent QOL patch. Where are the optimizations and bug fixes?
