Any word if our first toon(s) will be mailed a birthday present like the first GW ??

I hope it’s an RNG box. Love those. Maybe an anniversary special, limited time offer skin?

I’m expecting birthday minis that are account bound, so we can’t make crazy bank off them like we did in GW1.

Despite it would break GW1 tradition (not really as there was some year that we received tonics), I wouldn’t like a full set of anniversary minis. We already have enough (and a lot of them way too generic to bother collecting, like seraph class A, seraph class B, centaur A, centaur B etc…), and the really good ones came from special events (I love my mini plush griffon :P) and similar stuff.

Maybe some gems se we can go and spend them?

Something that would be cool would be a ticket for any of the RNG weapon sets (so far: Fused, Sclerite and Dragon Jade) so if you weren’t like to get one you could pick one each year (with the list increasing each year). It would also give a chance to those who weren’t even there to take the skins so the work put by the artists is used overtime.

I have a feeling it’ll either be a new piece of gear (Molten Gauntlet-style) or we will get a weapon skin either to pick from any of the previously limited-release weapon sets or for an entirely new “Anniversary” set of weapons.

Hell, anything would be better than what Funcom did on the 1 year aniversity of Age of Conan where all of the players got a firework that had a 8 hour cooldown. Yes! This wonderful and well thought out gift to loyal players was a FIREWORK that could only be used once every EIGHT HOURS!

I don’t think anyone could beat that for lameness but I could be wrong.

For WoW’s 8 year anniversary Blizzard just made a video of the bosses that have been slain since the launch of the game.

What I hope for: Either a new set of armour skins or weapon skins.
What it probably will be: A backslot item.

That is one ugly dragon, but I’d have to agree, would be an awesome mini to have!

Set your expectations high and be prepared to be flabbergasted. Anniversary is one of the key moments in GW1 and I expect it to be big in GW2 too.

They’ll probably do something that ties to what they did before the anniversary and that represents their view of the game. So, probably a special event with some consumables dropping in the open world, some gemstore items (weapons/armors, minis, vanity items) and maybe a special skin or a costume related to the event. And new temporary DEs.
They might use the occasion to announce an expansion or in any case an change to the game, in whatever form. Could be.
Or they could just pop some fireworks in LA and light up a bonfire. Happy birthday.
Oh, almost forgot. Expect a lot of boasting and self-celebration.

I’m hoping for something really awesome, in my opinion anyway, such as guild halls, or better still a whole guild district! An anniversary update that included that would keep me happy for another year!

As far as updates I’m not holding my breath altho I’d expect a kitchen sink update from most games especially for their ui.

As long as it’s not a free hat. I could never see the appeal of collecting hats, I think I have one “special” hat for each of my 5 characters, all hidden, and that’s more than enough.

I think whatever it is they should either make one item that everyone will get, or make a set and make them tradeable. I’d hate for it to be a set of items rewarded randomly where everyone is stuck with what they get, whether they want it or not. Every time I see the unused Fused Gauntlet ticket sitting in my bank it frustrates me. I will probably never use it because I don’t like the skin, and I know there are so many people out there who would love to have it. But I’m stuck with it instead.

I collect minis in GW1 and GW2, it’s what most of my gold goes on and I can confidently say no one minds spending money, even a lot of money, buying cosmetic collectables from people who got it randomly for free. It might seem unfair at first glance but to me it’s a good trade – I have fun saving up my virtual money and spending it on minis and it means people who get them and aren’t interested can get something they do want instead.

Gift of exploration is what we’ll all get for our 1 year anniversary. I’m so looking forward to finally being able to get my hands on one of those to finish my legendary weapons.

Birthday Cupcakes and a nice gift (mini, weapon or armor piece) from a birthday box, just like GW would be nice! How about a special title too? “The older you get, the better you become” or something funny??? :P

Winter is coming, too. It’s inevitable.

I’m all for Anniversary, but I don’t want August yet. I want to enjoy the Summer first.
