Auto-Attack Without a Target
Projectile attacks without a target fire in the direction of your camera. Tilt it slightly to shoot farther away, towards the center of your screen. For a more obvious view, go in first person.

Nobody plays with their camera parallel to the ground (like 5ft from ground). Everyone plays with their camera slightly above, looking down. I refuse to go into first person to fire an arrow straight.
You can move the camera without changing your aim by using the left mouse button instead the right mouse one.
Some attacks will not spot when hitting the ground, but instead follow the ground until they use all their range, like Vapor Blades do.
For me, it’ll be enough if we could at least get a crosshair while holding the right mouse. It’ll be as simple as replacing the mouse pointer icon with the crosshair instead hiding it. That way at least I’ll know exactly where I’m aiming before firing.

Speak for yourself. Every time I fight a thief and want to fire a projectile, I tilt my camera. But you have to do it fast. I thought you were going to talk about Spatial Surge: that’s a real problem if you ask me.

Point being, if you’re on a flat surface, your projectiles should fire straight. You shouldn’t have to throw your camera into the floor to fire an arrow straight.
This is a awful way to have to use a skill.
Spatial Surge is not a projectile, thus without a target bone to connect it simply doesn’t work.

Reminds me of the good old days of CS where most still were aiming on the ground because they are accustomed to it from UT/Quake using a rocket launcher and just wanting the splash.
Auto-targeting " If you use a skill with nothing targeted, the game will automatically select an appropriate target for you"
Enable this and your shots will no longer fire into the ground.
Shots will fire straight wherever your avatar is looking. If you want to constantly fire into an area without a target do it from the start. Don’t select a target but just shoot into the crowd. Turn the camera not your character. left-mouse is different from right-mouse
re·ward – a thing given in recognition of one’s service, effort, or achievement
en·ti·tle·ment – the belief one is inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment

Wow, didn’t notice this option.
Thanks.
Still, if you don’t have a target the arrow should still shoot forward regardless of camera.
