Auto-cast ground target option?
I’d love to see this. It’s not something I’d use all the time, but it could come in handy in certain situations for sure.
Well, it could work for the HUD issue too, sinc e HUD elements block target circles and place them under player character’s feet, which is impractical.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
Hexes & Enchantments were a major balancing issue in GW1 that Anet purposely wanted to avoid in GW2 and this requested feature would be VERY close to that.

I’d love an option to auto cast to target.
sometimes especially in zergs, its almost in impossible to see my mouse, and the green circle can be hard to spot too….really annoying
Isn’t there an option for this already in options tab?

Not on the target.
There’s an option for instant skill when you press it…so whereever your mouse is.
but retty useless when you can’t spot your mouse half the time.
I hereby request Anet to implement such a feature. I really wanted this since the start of the beta, since the mouse dissapears half the time during combat, and I would like to AOE bosses with far greater accuracy.

I also thought there was an option to use ground targeted skills automatically on your target, but apparently I was wrong.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

There should be both…
Normal Cast (Click skill, then click skill or mouse again to cast).
Fast Cast (Click skill to cast, if ground target, will be cast on mouse).
Smart Cast (Click skill and hold. Upon release, will be cast on mouse. If skill is not held, will be cast on mouse).
There is, however, no way of toggling between these options or setting specific keybinds to do these actions (example: skill 4 on normal cast but skill 8 on fast cast). Just something to think about.
I’d love this if they add a check to make sure you can see the ground point below your target before casting it. Else it would be super OP on walls at keeps or towers in WvW.
Again, Anet wanted to avoid the TAB+SKILL button mashing of GW1 with GW2.
Seriously, I could run my mesmer with a HEX build into a mob and do almost as well with my eyes closed as open (sans picking the most powerful enemy to lay Ineptitude/Backfire on).
Sigh….I so miss my Interrupt / Wastrel builds….

I’m not sure if it to ir taste. But guild wars 2 combat mode..can help to keep track of ur mouse.

Which is one reason why I don’t think this would be implemented. It would confuse the crap out of people, particularly since the red messages informing you of targets being out of range and whatnot are even less visible than the rather visible green circle of a ground targeted skill.
It would also completely change the gameplay on a staff Ele or staff Necro, since a lot of their skills are ground targeted.
Lastly, it would kitten up Consecrated Ground since it would effectively make all of them to be on-target casts, which doesn’t make any sense.

that’s why it should be a choice for players.
If it messes up certain skills or plays differently, they don’t have to use it.

or anet could look at their mouse design, and find a way to make it nice an obvious rather than hidden in the mix of colours.

It would fix many issues, and I don’t see too harmfull effects.
A slash command /groundtarget (distance) was one of the basic commands in dark age of camelot 10 years ago. I just think that this is necessary due to the issues noted. It would be a single command key bind and easily implemented.
2 years later:
There is a option in Controls under targetting called “Snap Ground Target” and “Toggle Snap Ground Target” that automatically places reticle over your target…so much easier.
