Q:

I am in need of some help

I have 2 guild wars 2 accounts and I want to automatically log in using two different shortcuts of the game to save me time. It seems to only save the login that I have typed into the login screen.

How can I have it save and login two different accounts using two different shortcuts?

A:

“C:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2-64.exe” -nopatchui -email xxxxx@xxx.xxx -password xxxxxxxx

This is exactly what I have for my 64-bit client and

“C:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -nopatchui -email xxxxx@xxx.xxx -password xxxxxxxx

This is exactly what I have for my 32-bit client. It shouldn’t make a difference which version you use though.

I forgot to mention, I have already tried the commands from that page, They do work perfectly but only login one account at a time.

When I try and use a second shortcut for my other account it only logs in the first account that is already typed into the login GUI

If I manually change the login on the login GUI it only logs in that account and vice versa… Crazy… Or I’m missing something :P

I used the following command line for my two shortcuts:

-nopatchui -user XXXXXXX -password XXXXXXX

This bypasses the patchui and just puts in the new username and password. The only issue is that if the game has an update it will lock up when you try to open it. I have a 3rd shortcut that opens the patch UI like normal to download the files then I switch to the other shortcuts.

What you’re missing is that you can only have one instance of GW2 open by default, if you need to run more clients on the same PC you’ll need to use something like MultiWars 2

Third party program, unsupported, use at your own risk, not the best performance, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Yes sorry I also forgot to say I am only trying to run one instance at a time

I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I have tried multiple ways and still get a blank screen or just the regular login GUI.

-nopatchui -user XXXXXXX -password XXXXXXX
-nopatchui -user=XXXXXXX -password=XXXXXXX
“-nopatchui” “-user XXXXXXX” “-password XXXXXXX”

I can’t think of any other off the top of my head but you get the idea Still a no go.

I have used the -image command since day one with zero problems but auto login being slightly more complex shouldn’t cause me this much trouble It works perfectly fine on my guild wars 1 accounts…

Move -nopatchui to the end

It might be -user XXXXXXX -password XXXXXXX -nopatchui instead (I don’t recall, I’m not on the computer I play GW2 on right now). Just remember, the tags go in with a single space between each and with no quotes or anything.

Like I mentioned, I get a blank screen if there is any update in the queue.

I’ll copy exactly what I have in my command line (minus my login info :P) here when I get back home. Hopefully we can get this working for you!

Honestly, what you’re trying should be working.
My shortcut for my alt account has
-email a@b.c -password “password” -nopatchui
added and works just fine.

edit:It does give me a blank screen for a few seconds but then goes on to char select
Do you have email authentification enabled and maybe need to authenticate the IP you’re logging in from? Since you’re skipping the patcher that may be where it all hangs up.

Well, I have absolutely no clue why it wouldn’t work for me, I copied and pasted this into my shortcut and now it’s working fine.

“C:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -nopatchui -email xxxxx@xxx.xxx -password xxxxxxxx

But when I manually type it in I get nowhere ;( Totally crazy, Thank you all for your help It’s working perfectly now!
