Having more time in hand to play or lucky to be in a Raid guild or have friends who play GW2 should not be the reason for rewarding players or punishing others.

Why not? Becaue rest of the game is like that.

Hello red herring! Players are not punished!

Again, everyone has equal opportunity. There is no guarantee of equal outcome.

With that said, I would be perfectly fine if they did make everything available in other ways, but we need to stop with the star man arguments and jealousy posts.

Listen up,

If you want the best, the most prestigious and the ultimate reward in this game? You’re going to have to go through the most difficult, the most frustrating and the absolute challenge that this game can offer you!

Would you really feel better, if you could farm Legendary armor in Silverwastes? I know I wouldn’t, because what’s ’’Legendary’’ about that?

And about the pugging Raids, just do it man. I’m at 15/18 Envoy Armor and I started 5 weeks ago. I’ve pugged every single Raid and I’ve had plenty of wipes over kills.

Just do it! It’s not that hard as many people think it is! I thought the same as you before I started, but now my mind has changed.

<snip>

Please add legendary armor to be obtainable out of Raids, and do not reward minorities withe exclusive skins/items.

PS: Raids here is just an example, that mindset should be maintained through all future content.

I completely agree with the whole post, just snipped for space saving. There should be Legendary armor available for all game modes. Unfortunately, knowing how long it takes them to create armor, we won’t see Legendary Armor in the other 2 modes until the end of 2018 or so depending on the current development plans.

Also, don’t bother counting my vote if the Legendary Armor for PvE is going to have skirts / buttcapes. I won’t want it in that case anyway.

I would be cool with crafting legendary armor. It isn’t cheap (based on craft the weapons), and the daily gates would keep anyone from obtaining the set instantly (something that uses a legendary mat to make another mat, maybe), even with all the mats needed. People raiding would still have a better opportunity to aquire a full set before people crafting (in theory, barring horribly bad luck).

If they want to make it more difficult to obtain in other forms of play, that’s fine, but I don’t have the time to raid, and I would still like to work toward a legendary set.

Where did they say they were EU? Even if they are, NA pugs get their weekly kills too. I’m on NA and before my guild started killing all the bosses, I pugged everything just fine. But if you are having such terrible luck as a pug, join a guild. There are loads of options for people to get into raiding, no matter their experience level. There are guilds recruiting to train new people all the fight mechanics, there are guilds recruiting for semi-experienced raiders to join a static group, there are guilds recruiting for highly experienced raiders, and there are even lfg guilds to join random raids. You have options to get those kills if pugging isn’t working out (though I know many people who completed their pre-legendary armor collection through this method just fine).

I think OP has a misconception about GW2 being mainly “soloable content”. From what I’ve seen playing last 1.5yrs, it really isn’t. (Aside: just recently I bought GW1, and though I’m only lvl3, I can see that there are always NPCs to help you, and in addition to what a guildie mentioned with much instancing etc., this first game entry is indeed meant mainly for soloing.)

You want to farm H’ween Labyrinth? Join a tag. Most guild missions? Need a guild with actual people in it. Content locked behind [Group Event]? Usually needs a group. Many HoT hero points might be soloable, but they’re so much easier with extra bodies, even if it’s just that one extra person to provide a momentary diversion from VB’s golem HP. Also, not every Dungeon is so easily puggable. I’d want experienced thieves to lead CM or Arah, and have seen it go horribly wrong on a few occasions. I’ll be honest, I’m usu sighing when pugs come into the dungeon group with strange specs, sub-level80, and/or without food.

TLDR — My point is that GW2 has been inherently created to be group-based content. Believe me, I love to solo things too, and thief was my first main, so I have definitely experienced bad beats. You really just need to find the right guild for you, and many of your problems will go away.
I was initially by myself for maybe a month, then joined a tiny guild, but that didnt work out for me as they wanted to stay tiny with slightly off timezones. Later I joined a mega guild, met a bunch of awesome people, did a bunch of previously closed (to me) content, like ALL the missions. After a long time, I did eventually move on to a guild more focused on endgame content, with more reliable T4s and raids that also fit my timezone. Current guild also does a few voicechat-based events outside of GW2. So yeah, some guilds might pleasantly surprised you.

I suppose I wouldn’t mind so much if we had some new armors for other game modes, such as fractals armors, or armors related to living season achievements. Yes, we have back pieces and helms, but those aren’t full sets of armors in different weights. We do not even get new armors in the gem store. It isn’t that I am disappointed I will not get this set of legendary armor, which I think is ugly actually. It is that we won’t get different types of legendary armor for other game modes. There’s the one way to obtain it, and that’s it. That isn’t how legendary weapons are earned. There are many paths to get one of those.

I am the type of player he mentions in the OP. I solo vast portions of this game, I pug many other portions, and when I hit a wall I will ask someone in a facebook group I belong to to help me get where I need it. I belong to guilds, I would like to do more guild stuff, but it isn’t that important to me and it is basically an achievement hunting thing. I don’t find the guild interface to be very user friendly, and having belonged to quite a few guilds, they are mostly filled with fairly unfriendly people… which is fine. I am not that friendly while playing myself. I am busy focusing on my goals.

Some people, like me, enjoy figuring out how metas work on our own. Some of us know how to use LFG to find what we need. The OP didn’t say that we do not randomly meet up and play in groups, but that those groups are not long lasting, and that most people spend their time solo’ing and randomly pug’ing content, and the OP is probably right because most people do not have the vast amounts of time to give to trying to beat content like raids.

I don’t mind there being special armor gated behind this content called “legendary armor”. My problem is that there is only one set of legendary armor, it is ugly in my opinion, and it wouldn’t look good on my main character anyways. Why not have different sets of legendary armor earned in different ways? Something that would look good on a medium weight character, something for a light weight character… something feminine? Lots of women play this game.

i can make a gift of fortune in 2 days grinding my butt off in pve. i need like 3 months of raiding to make a set. so yeah its a much higher grind. your also assuming perfect groups 1st try kills and every kill being on lfg within the week. im lucky to get 4 kills a week through lfg.

You can’t compare gift of fortune and LI using how long it will take in months or weeks since LIs can only be acquired once per week. Is it a “much higher grind” when you will need to play the Raids for one or two days a week for 3 to 4 hours? Compared to what exactly? How many hours of “grinding” to get a gift of fortune in 2 days?

And I’m “assuming” a proper static group, not using the lfg although you can find intelligent/competent groups on lfg as well.

so.. this whole topic boils down to
> OP wants all content to be equally accessible everywhere, effectively nullifying any sense of accomplishment or value?

Accomplishment should not come from being better than other players but being better than the challenges.

Basically the whole discussion turned out to be between players who want to play the other players and players who want to play the game.

I’d rather this “most prestigious and ultimate” reward was something on the level of a title, not something i might actually want to have for reasons other than its prestige.

Would you really feel better, if you could farm Legendary armor in Silverwastes? I know I wouldn’t, because what’s ’’Legendary’’ about that?

I would feel better. I never cared about prestige of “legendary” gear. Only about their stat-changing option, and about whether i thought they looked good or not.
Besides, what’s “legendary” about raiding?

Just do it! It’s not that hard as many people think it is!

It’s also not as fun as some people think it is.

@Triggerbrand.8072 me too, its been explained to death yet theres always 1 a week.

It may be because those explanations you mentioned generally don’t help in the slightest.

New posts appear and new posters keep bringing those concerns back over and over again, because the reasons that make them disappointed with the game still remain.

Actions, not words.
