When I last played GW2 last year I had one character of each class to 80, maxed each crafting skill and collected a number of outfits.

I eventually got bored with nothing to strive for except different “looks”.

Has anything new been added in the last year to PvE worth coming back for?

Level increase, new class, new race, gear with better stats, etc?

Nope.

So for PvE players it’s essentially chasing paper “achievements” and more Dress Up Barbie?

There’s some more story you can go through, its a few hours fun.

What else do you want to chase?

In all, a few hours at best of a new LS story, some new achievements that go along with it, a few tweaks in most professions. 1 new map (Dry Top – goes with the new LS). 1 new wvw karma train map (Edge of the Mists).

You may or may not were in-game for the Ascended armor/weapons, which is an upgrade above exotic of minimal stat increase. The increase in crafting is 500 now, which is only for a select few professions.

Other than that, it’s relatively the same in most aspects. Especially pvp/wvw.

Yes. Except you play the Dress Up Barbie through the gem store – that’s where everything good looking gets added.
