You end up with a listing for what was formerly the highest bid price, which is now a little higher than the second-highest bid price.
This is extremely common with commodities such as crafting resources.

Naw, I think the point OP is making is that if this person wanted to move the item quick, they could’ve just filled a buy order and only lost 1 copper on it. And to be fair, it is really silly to post a sell order so close to the buy orders. Commodities like crafting mats which you might want to trade by the thousands are one thing, but a single recipe that’s already going for 7-8 gold?
