Listen, Anet. I have a pile of snow owls, ravens, and hawks.

Once you have one, the rest aren’t even forgeable – it’s a total waste of a “reward” for what was already a pretty dicey gamble. It’s worse than the individual boosters are, you could at least use them. These just take your gems.

Can we just… either make these forgeable, or at the very least take them out of the BL Chests? They’ve been there so long, and getting yet another bird instead of a usable item is discouraging me from buying them at all anymore.

Had to vent a little. I can’t be the only one irritated by this? lol

I meant the minis, not the mail carriers. You can at least sell those.

Yah. Just realized that after searching blc contests. I’ve only gotten the bird carriers, no minis so I didn’t know they were in there.

I have no idea why they stick account bound minis in there. It’s really annoying and I’ve had to delete duplicate minis. Stuff like this is why I don’t buy keys but only farm them.

It reminds me of back before the closet system, when people had scores of Risen Priest of Balthazar minis.

On a related note, when the Super Adventure Box minis were in the chests, they were forgeable to create the fourth extra mini. So even after unlocking all three, you could conceivably get doubles of all three again and still use them. They were also only available for a few weeks, so the window in which to receive doubles/triples/etc. was quite small.

That didn’t bother me, this really does though. No way to use them, AND a very long window in which to get duplicates.

This is the only set of items I’ve ever seen in the BL Chest I would genuinely consider a rip-off.

Throw them into the forge with some Elonian Wine and create a Turducken Mail Carrier.

Both of these comments made me feel better about the situation somehow, haha.

They do need to remove the account bound portion of these minis. Been sitting on them in hopes they do and for the fact that just destroying an item acquired seems like a waste, even if the BLTC key was pure gamble.

It’s a primary reason for me to stop buying Black Lion Keys off the gemstore (or doing the weekly/map explorer too). Repeating rewards that are actually worse then grey junk that at least can be vendored for a few copper because they require you to confirm delete the item is just a nuisance item.

It would be nice to have added an item like Boost Enchantment Powder along with the mini to get another one of random level rarity. Heck, make that one account bound too. At least it would add something different as there are plenty of minis that are never seen.

Considering I’ve never gotten one from a black lion chest, yah it would be.

Just think how much gold you’d sell the Raven mini for now that that Raven Legendary staff is coming. ^^

I’ve gotten multiple birds from those chests. All ravens. The last raven came in a chest that also had 5 mystery tonics and an armor booster. Rock bottom.
