I know they said we’ll be able to preview items in the future, but go with me on this…

In other games, I’d often buy items from the auction houses based on what they looked like, especially since you could transmog in some way or another. Time after time, I wished the same could be true for GW2. Then it hit me…cosmetic items cost gems.

If we could preview items, that would bring the cosmetic aspect to the BLTC, which would cut into the gem market.

I get the Bacon Lettuce Tomato part… but what’s the ‘C’? Cheese? Because that sounds really good.

It’s a double edged sword… it could diminish demand for some items while generate more demand for others.

seeing as you can already see what they look like through the use of 2 websites I really dont see how this impacts anything at all.

All it does is it makes it more cumbersome. I’m not going to spend my gold on things I don’t know what they look like. Well maybe if I already have a look and I’m going to transmute it anyways.

I’m guessing you were never a spreadsheet gamer…. Nonetheless, the “lack of information” on-hand does have certain positive/negative effects on the TP. I’m not sure they’re all that dramatic though. I’m not a coder either so I’m not sure how difficult it is to implement such a feature.

Cant you preview items from the PVP locker?
Thats how I have been doing it and it has worked so far for me. I just match the colour and symbols.
Besides you can preview the gem shop stuff. Pretty sure I did.

Some items it’s pretty hard to do that as they have the basic icon despite not having the basic look (this mostly has to do with weapons, mostly).

It would be easier to use the PvP locker if the names matched the items out in the rest of the game.

Duelist is called Leather in the locker.

Draconic is called Scaled.

Etc etc

Imo it’s not really the model of the weapon, sometimes people are looking for things that have a nice particle effect, and you can’t see them apart from seeing them with your own eyes.
