Guild Wars 2

Hi folks,

I did a search and found a topic from 2013. If there is a more recent one then apologies for a duplicate thread.

I’ve been away from the game for quite a while now. I’m level 80.

My question is: So what is there to do in the game as a level 80?

What are my options?

Any tips or general advice?

What new systems should I be aware of?

ANY info to help me get back into the game would be much appreciated!

There’s PvP if you like Arena style combat with set numbers on both teams. You can pug it up there and if you like it join teams and roll as a pre-made group.

Then WvW for skirmishing over a large contested map against 2 other servers, often with many players on screen (from a handful to hundreds). There’s a lot to pick up but you’ll learn it fine just following a commander (look for coloured indicator above them and on map).

PvE dungeons (all of the dungeons, even the low-levelled ones), and the Fractal dungeon. The difficulty of these varies wildly, some are run often with cheesy tactics to complete them in 5-10 minutes, others are difficult slogs going on for almost an hour.

PvE Events out in the various map zones, these occur according to timers. Just google GW2 event timers and be at the location at the right time to get in on it.

Of course, just joining a helpful Guild (which opens up weekly Guild Events for you too) is by far the best way to find mentors/guides/tips and friends for doing all this with.

Achievement/Collection hunter (check your Rare/basic collection tab)

Find a guild matches your play style (guild missions)
Farm the new Silverwastes area (great loot) & Carapace armor drops
Login for daily rewards
Work on Legendary

After you do everything mentioned above, you can AFK with rest of us in Divinity’s Reach under the statue of Dwayna while watching Starcraft tournaments on twitch and alt+tab back for some chit-chat on guild chat from time to time
