I knew it. It’s happening again. For more than a YEAR I haven’t received any of this. F2P is up and here we go again. I’m not against the F2P model, I’m even helping the newcomers at night. But I don’t want to see anymore of this kiTTen.

Hate to tell you this, but those never went away. And honestly, they’re more likely to be not F2P accounts due to how many people they tend to whisper.

These come in waves. Just report them and move on and you’ll notice it calms down in about a week.

Gold sellers have realized anet makes it very difficult for them to consistantly advertise so they do periodic blitz marketing whenver their normal rate for GW2 stuff slows down (usually as a result of ANET making them unable to complete orders or disciplining their customers)

They buy or activate batches of accounts, spam, and then get banned in a day and lay off for a while. F2P only really enables them to create-spam in newbie zones if they don’t level characters, and I’d be suprised if anet didn’t have some built in IP tools to detect unusually high numbers of account registrations like you would find done in most of those businesses with an automated tool.

Jokes aside, the last time I saw a gold seller was a week or two before GW2 went F2P. The only thing that seems to have increased gold sellers was the announcement a few months ago of HoT, which just increased player population (and gold sellers) in general.

F2P account should be unable to whisper you in fractals unless they are in the fractal with you, or you’re mutual friends

Wow calm your horses, those bots have been in game since the start, they never went away since they are using new accounts. If you block them they will be fewer and fewer until they get hold of new accounts. They use whisper, map chat and have been doing so since beginning.

Dont blame f2p for something they can’t be blamed for. This is a old issue.

Somebody didn’t read the limitations on the free to play accounts…….

The real problem with this picture is the guy who isn’t stacked with you…
