1. I’m not able to add an upgrade component to any of the new backpacks I create, anyone else having this problem?

1. What do they mean that the backpiece can be used as a crafting ingredient?

1. Why when I select stats, one of the options is Berserker’s and Valkyrie, but it only shows zerker stats?

They are upgradable, like recent event backpacks; you use the lesser backpack as an ingredient to make a higher level one. Yours is probably not a fine enough level to accept upgrades. As usual, a good guide on Dulfy.

Mine is exotic, it just won’t take ruby orbs or crests

The upper most backpack is level 78 not 80. You need a level 78 or lower upgrade.
