Bag that only accepts what you put into
There are already bags that do this. Do some research and you might actually find them.

I Think Steinpilz means a bag in wich absolutley nothing goes in without you manually putting it in. You have the Invisible bags which do not show the stuff in it to the vendor however this bags just gets filled with everything you loot and you have to organize it manually.
About the changing of weapons if you change a weapon of the same type (one handed/ two handed/ off hand/ underwater) it will change places with the weapon you equipe. For other weapon changes the weapon will swap with the first chosen weapon while all other weapons getting changed will swap to the first free place in inventory..

hopefully not, as that would be about the worst request of all time. Your last bag will never have an item put in it until all others are filled, so the only difference between your last bag and the proposed bag would be the proposed bag will force you to do inventory management before you can pick up loot even when you have space? No thanks.

Exactly.

You must not buy one if you don’t like it.
I would like to have that option.

I do not know if I want such a bag but why should the option not be available? Some people like it and some do not I personally use your solution in combination with an invisible bag to be sure notthing shows in the shop.
The problem with this I have noted is as follows: If you change from 2 1-handers to a 2-hander, the off-hand item is likely going to the first open inventory slot available and thus will be prime for accidental selling or salvaging (mixed in with all the other BS loot you just gathered). The main hand will swap with the old location of the 2-hander but the off hand has nothing to swap with and thus goes in the first available bag slot.
Currently, being AWARE of this situation is the only remedy (and likely moving the off-hand ASAP to safe location so it is no longer in “the danger zone”….).
If there is a solution to the above listed situation that I have missed, please provide detailed solution.

The only solution I can think of is this set up
starter backpack – full
Invis/safe box – empty
Craftsmans bag – empty
Oiled bag – empty
fractal uncommon box – empty
fractal rare box – empty
fractal exotic box – empty
it doesn’t solve the problem of masterwork/normal (blue/white) items falling into the safe/invis box, but it’s the closest thing I could think of.

ok, I clearly misunderstand the idea, can you please give an example of a situation where you would find this useful? Like I already said, the only time it would differ from the last bag in your inventory is when your inventory is full, so I’m assuming your use case is with a full inventory (besides new bag). So now you equip your 2H weapon and you’re automatically encumbered? but it would have gone in the last bag anyway, and you can move it if you want to (but with your bag you’ll be forced to?) Or you find loot with all your bags full, you can pick it up without your bag, and move it to another bag if you want, but with your bag you can’t even pick it up. Do you just want extra steps to do something you could do anyway? Or is it about not knowing your other bags are full, and maybe some kind of notification when your inventory is filling up would be a useful change?
A better way to deal with all of this would be to enable locking of items.
When you lock the item it can’t be sold/salvaged/destroyed until you unlock it.
Many games have this feature.
Back in the day I was holding out hope that we’d get Player Housing and a furniture-crafting discipline. I was hoping said crafting discipline would be able to make chests (bags) that auto-sorted Account and Soulbound Items, meaning masterwork and better equipment bound to your character would go there when unequipped.

Huh! A Soulbond Bag would be a way to solve the problem. It would still be limiting on bag space, but the idea itself is fairly solid.

I don’t understand how having a bag that only accepts items you manually put in there would help with the weapon swap issue. When you equip a two handed weapon and it automatically swaps out a main and off-hand weapon then you’re not putting them into your inventory manually so they wouldn’t go into that bag. They could possibly program it so it does count as placing them manually and therefore they default to this bag, but it would probably be just as easy to make it so when you swap weapons they automatically go into the lowest available slot.
I do however like the idea of a soul/account bound bag where anything bound to you is automatically sorted in that bag. That would solve the problem for everything except basic and fine weapons (which aren’t so much of a problem if you accidentally sell or salvage them). Personally I’d like it to work like the other self-sorting bags where it is possible to put other items in if you want to, or if all the other space is full because I doubt anyone carries around 20 account bound items. (I don’t see what it has to do with player housing though.)
Until then I solve the problem by using exotic weapons and having ‘show rarity’ turned on. Maybe I’m just unlucky but I never get enough exotics that I’d sell or salvage them without taking the time to see what they are.

I rather like the idea of a Soul/Account Bound bag as well, it’s a simple and straightforward way to drop your gear back into a proper equipment bag whenever you swap dual-wielded weapons with two-handed weapons or unequip anything (like infinite use harvesting tools) in the Hero window (if you drag to the Equipment tab instead of to the Inventory window).
The only problem I could see arise is if you put the Soul/Account Bound Bag before an Oiled Bag; I would rather have all my trash go to the bottom of the pile, where it can be minimized and forgotten. Why is trash soulbound, ANet!?
The source of this problem is 2 handed weapons. If you could equip an offhand weapon at the same time as a 2 handed weapon, with the offhand weapon simply staying inactive until the main hand slot becomes empty or occupied by a one handed weapon, this wouldn’t be an issue. If you keep your weapons in a specific 20 or so slots, then they will always occupy those 20 slots if the OH weapon stopped getting unequipped by 2h weaps (assuming the prior slots in your inventory are always full, presumably with consumables and the like).
Magic bags eh?
Found an ancient magical Xunlai storage bag! :P
“You can set up the sorting variables of the bag, like example: Rarity, Soulbound, Account Bound and so on.”
Perhaps even “portal bag”, linked to each character that has one equipped, but only account wide. The content can be moved and placed in there.
But problem would be that it’ll make banks and bank express items quite obsolete…
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
isnt there a bag wich weapons will go to if theres available space in it? I havent tried, just remember I read something about it when unlocking recipes while crafting.
I use safe bags, because I have missclicked compact instead of deposite too many times..
The way I solve this problem for myself is by getting the actual stats from gear through stuff such as dungeons, wvw etc. That gear cannot be sold, this also includes karma armor/weapons. For alot of people it isn’t really a good solution as it would limit your ways of obtaining items, however, for me it has worked.

As I said, I originally thought of the idea a while back when typing up my wishlist for Player Housing. I wanted a new crafting discipline through which we’d make our own furniture. Since the weapon crafts have consumables and the armor crafts have bags, figured a furniture making craft would need something similar. So I came up with the idea of chests (bags) that auto-sorted soul/account bound items. Outside being the origin of the idea, it doesn’t have anything else to do with anything in this thread.

Equipment bags are useless for managing your equipment. There needs to be a free slot in the bag if you want it to “catch” an offhand weapon that has been automatically unequipped, so that means you have to open your inventory and pick out the white/blue/green/yellow gear that gets stuck in there every time you loot.
A Soul/Account Bound bag would still have that problem with trophies and mission items, but those are rare enough that it’s nowhere as inconvenient.
