i would say the fourth may be the fire (orange area) but atm we are unable to change it?

changing the flames would be pretty awesome (just think of blue fire guardians or green fire necros)

…on the other hand, this is Balthazar’s Regalia. changing the colour of the fire would make them less so.

I like it but, didn’t buy it.

There’s just no customization in outfits aside from changing the color which makes for a very generic look for those that have it.

I’ll prob wait till it’s on sale, at least I can be generic on the cheap

Tbh, I don’t know if I should be happy or sad.
Happy, because since this is just another “makes you look just like anyone else” outfit which makes it 100% undesirable for me to buy it, or sad, because it’s not an armor set which would probably be great to mix’n match :/

There is just no variety in this, even less so than with other outfits.

Don’t mean to spoil it for those who like it anyway, but your characters pretty much look all the same, colouring 2 slots differently (the other 2 don’t matter) doesn’t make your character stand out (enough) at all.

Initially, I was hyped, but after the “floating head” disaster when not displaying the helmet I’m downright upset. Not being able to properly dye is just one more insult added.

Shame…

Love the outfit. Horns from the Thoughtless Potion appear at a messed up angle though.

I’m in a similar vein as a lot of people. LOVE the armour, HATE the monotony.

I’m not paying real money to look like everyone else. It just doesn’t make sense…

I could understand a new player/character getting this tho, its a costume they can wear all the way to lvl 80.

No lvl 80 should wear costumes imo as their look.

If they sold costumes one time then never again, i would understand that as well, because then over time it would become rare to see people in said costume.

Unfortunately, every costume comes full circle OVER and OVER again.

I don’t understand why anyone would run without the helmet. How do you attach an organic head to lava? And why would you even if you could? The body has no function. With this outfit on, your character is no longer a normal living being. You can not mix like that. I propose making the helmet non removable.

Argh, why is it an outfit (obligatory “I want it as an armor post”)?

It looks awesome, however it has so many great parts I would love to mix and match with my heavy.
I mean. Look at the wolf theme (canine?). I would love it on my Norn, who follows Wolf (and has no armor to reflect it.).

Naw chars cant kill nada, it took them to adopt a fake god for them to even fight us back. They might have internal problems or maybe the dragons magical power is blocking them from doing much since i think they were sucking magic up from zhaitan in orr.

Naw chars cant kill nada, it took them to adopt a fake god for them to even fight us back. They might have internal problems or maybe the dragons magical power is blocking them from doing much since i think they were sucking magic up from zhaitan in orr.

Charr might have been strong at one point (before Balthazar came along and chased them to their corner), but look at them now… overgrown anime kitten with horns. Just think of the wvw meta charr look with the anime hairstyle in bright neon colours.

They’re more likely to run after a ball of yarn than to harm – or kill – anything.

I think they should allow you to change the color of the orange glow in the 4th dye slot.

This would be pretty kewl.

The fourth dye slot is not bugged. They just didn’t put a fourth dye channel on the outfit. The four dye slots are universal across all outfits for the character (which makes me sad). That means that once you select the four dyes, you can cycle through all your outfits and those are the four dyes that will be applied. If you swap from Balth to another, you’ll see your fourth color again.

They have done a surprisingly good job of making the channels work well across outfits. I keep a Word file of each alt’s outfit dye scheme preferences and on many of them I don’t need to change a thing to have the outfit look good.

However, the Balthazar one does suffer from making the armor all one color block. I know they cannot (yet) give us particle effect dye options (again, sad, for the orange lava just does not match my guardian’s blue glowing weapons), but it might have been nice to have all the engraved lines in the metal be color-selectable, as an example.

The first outfit I’ve actually considered putting my outfit ban (due to lack of armors being released) on hold and buying.

Unfortunately, due to the horrible “preview” in the gem store, I needed to preview it via the bank wardrobe. Sadly, I discovered that it is not there to preview so I could not even look at it with custom dye schemes without consulting an out-of-game source to get the chatcode.

Even if I were inclined to search out this chatcode to preview it, the gem store preview saved me from making that effort and was useful in that it showed me the horrible tattered butt cape that killed any interest I had in getting it.

Pros:

• It looks nice. (Well done, designers)
• Modifies charr tails
• Charr tails do not clip through fabric
  (sad that one actually needs to beg for this ‘feature’ on armor for charr)

Cons:

• It’s an outfit
  • Cannot mix and match parts
  • Cannot hide shoulders
• Horrible “Butt Cape” that is unnecessary and ruins so many well-made armors
• Could not preview it from wardrobe to test dying styles
• Cannot dye the lava glow

Problem when not having the helmet is that it makes your head appear to float, there’s no definition to the neck. Looks so much better with it equipped. Would be nice if Anet were to change the armor a little to make it look better.

( P.S. the 4th dye slot appears to be broken)

Apart from those two things, the armor is awesome.

The flaming tail effect is a nice bonus to Charr characters. It’s like we really came from hell. Dwayna’s regalia outfit doesn’t have any extra effects though (not even wings on the tail ) . Maybe when you make Grenth’s regalia oufit, could you please add some effect on the tails as well?
