Bank/character gold merge: Undo please
I dis-agree. I think this is one of the best features. I start a new character, and can buy tools and anything I like, because all gold is per account. It also doesn’t matter which character gets the profits from the TP because it all goes in the same pool.
So, I respectfully dis-agree.

I like it this way.
I think how we have it now is absolutely spot on. It would like an unnecs regression to change it and likely cause widespread complaints (esp as it was a feature players asked for)
Account-wide gold is the best thing to ever happen. I cannot see any sort of issue with this.
I also much prefer the current system to anything I have seen either before in GW2 or, frankly, in any other game.
I love the unified system and would be sad to see it rolled back.

Personally I would prefer to have a unified system (kitty) across all characters and the ability to put a deposit of gold in your bank .
This way you don’t carry all your cash on you at once and accidentally buy something at an overinflated price.
Personally I would rather only have a small kitty on my characters and be using a bank for saving gold for the bigger stuff.

The answer = personal guild bank.
Reminds me of this. https://xkcd.com/1172/

At least give the option to store in bank…
There is.
Make a personal guild and use that bank.

Well, if that’s all there is to it I’ll make a guild, but honestly having the old way to store in bank is much simpler.

Just be careful – if you ever decide to change servers, make sure you empty your guild bank first as it will NOT move with you.

I did like having a bank account vs. on-hand cash. made it less likely that I would mistakenly pay too much for something on the TP. However, now I just make less mistakes, namely; zero. So I’m glad for the account-wide wallet.

I honestly cannot understand why you’d prefer having your gold spread out amongst all your toons. It’s highly inconvenient.
You’re on your Engineer and want to buy some strength runes but you don’t have 70g on your Engi, so you swap to your Necro cuz that’s where more of your money is, and oops, now your Necro has no money for when you want new armor for a power build so you have to swap to your Ele…
What a pain. No thanks, I like my money account bound. I always know exactly how much gold I have. Nothing worse than burning 60g regearing a single toon, only to find out later when you switch toons that you only had 90g to begin with and now you’re effectively broke.
Also, how is putting your money in a bank (a centralized location) any different than putting it in your account wallet (a centralized location)?

I have no idea what strange reason could possibly bring someone to voice this demand. No.
Geez, I’m not demanding anything, I just prefer having an extra option to store my gold in bank, that’s all…
If you don’t want to make a personal guild just to store gold, you can alway put your gold in the trading post. Put in an order for dusk at 300gold won’t get you the precursor at all, and there is no fee for putting in an order. Also, you can pick it up anytime, that’s how i store my gold.
It would seem that you are in the minority here. I know I was surprised that someone would want it back the old way. I have 20 chars and trying to manage gold among all of them was a royal pain. Don’t want to have to do that again.

Yeah but if I’m correct you must cancel it because orders expire after some time, right? Anyways, an awesome suggestion, thank you!
If it’s a matter of budgeting and limiting spending for each individual character, surely a spreadsheet would help you there, right?

No, just a place to put the gold separated, but it’s fine, I’ll use TP.
Your reasoning makes no sense. Everything is unified now, yet you find that harder to manage than having different amounts of gold spread out across different characters?

You didn’t understand, I meant it’s spread out in a sense that every character shares the wallet and therefore keeps changing the amount, I’d like to have some place apart do keep my gold. But whatever, someone suggested a nice way to get the old behavior back, it’s fine now.
Well, I agree with the OP.
When this change was introduced, I logged out and never logged back in. It was a completely unnecessary change, if I wanted to share gold between my characters, there was always an option to do that. I didn’t, so I hadn’t, the only thing the change accomplished was to force me to do something I didn’t want to, and take away a part of the game I enjoyed.
No thanks.

So you basically haven’t logged in for about 9 months, and yet here you still are lurking on the forums?
They aren’t going to change it back, so you can stop lurking here and get on with your life.

I prefer individual wallets per character as I share my character slots with my family – I earn lots of gold, my daughter logs into her character and spends it!
I’ve just created my own guild now to hopefully be able to make my own stash, but it’s taken a good few days to do.

First of all: The thread is over a year old and the last post was from around that time.
Secondly: Sharing account is against the ToS and thus they shouldn’t (and won’t) take people that does that into account.
