Q:
I’ve very recently discovered some really nice Ui mods on a stream, one of which is called ICM or Immersive Combat Mode. It basically Disables all the Ui clutter on the screen, and locks the mouse to camera control. I really wanted to use it, but I am unsure whether doing so will end in me being banned. I figure that it is allowed, considering all it does in the end is remove screen clutter and hold the right mouse button for me, but I wanted to make sure before I do anything without being aware(and end up being Punished for it).

Because they don’t want to have to police each and everyone and repeat the process everytime one they had approved changed. The only thing they promote are overlays like Overwolf.
Short answer, no it is not allowed.
Short answer, no it is not allowed.
But would I be banned for using it? or is it one of those, not allowed but you wont be punished for using any non cheat visual improvements?
My main reason behind asking being i sometimes use my Trackpad, and this mod would significantly Increase Quality of Life if i wouldn’t need to hold down right click
You will be banned for using any 3rd party mods

Is there any reason why they don’t support any 3rd party mods?

Alright, Thanks for Explaining, can’t say that i agree with why they don’t allow it but its their choice i suppose.

Overwolf apps and macros for player instruments are okay but always use at your own risk!

I did see that Overwolf was allowed, but i don’t need any Overlays, if anything i enjoy when there is less on the screen.
it isn’t officially allowed but they aren’t going to ban it as it only cleans up the ui lots of people including myself use it and haven’t got banned.
Thousands of us have literally been using ICM since it was released two years ago with not a single ban being reported. Not. One. Single. Ban. Anet has said they were neutral to it specifically, and in general to any mod that doesn’t give a clear advantage to those using it.
This will be my only post on the subject, I’m not arguing with the screaming haters that show up every time this subject is brought up. Use it or not as you decide, but I will tell you it is phenomenal and that I would not play GW2 without it, even if it does make AoE skills more difficult to use.
For the record, here is Anet’s actual official stance on 3rd party mods, as opposed to the knee jerk “you gonna get banned” statement you’ll get from so many players:

Modifying the UI was allowed in GW1. They likely don’t care.

I know Woodenpotatoes uses that combat mod sometimes. So no I don’t think you would be banned for that. That being said I wouldnt advertise it or go screaming about it in map chat.
Another little addon that is nice is Yolomouse. All it does is make your cursor bigger and add customization.
