Basket Brawl is fun !
Tried the basket brawl for a while. It became frustrating after 30 sec. Kept playing for 5 games just to confirm my first impression.
Conclusion : This activity is in its current state unplayable. Here are a few suggestion to make this kittening activity not terrible :
- put an arrow on the ball holder
- put a visible symbol on the ball when it’s lying on the ground
- put a cd on the jump skill or, alternatively, make possible to steal from someone jumping, jump spam is abused as hell
- prevent spawn thieves by placing a no go zone around the ball after a point is scored. Nothing is more frustrating than seeing a mob around you waiting for you to pick up the ball.
I know it’s gonna take away manpower from other more important content, but that the price to pay if you don’t want your activity to be avoided like the plague.
Pretty sure that this activity is in BETA mode, so I would imagine they are looking for constructive suggestions just like these. (There are a couple of threads offering the first two; I don’t remember seeing the second two, which are sound sensible to me.)
It’s pretty fun!
However, VodCom is on point with suggestions.
The ball is hard to keep track of, both when it’s in play and out-of-bounds.
Heh! BasketBrawl is fun. :P
This game got me playing activities again!
However, I have suggestions. First and foremost, put a mark or arrow on the ball and the player holding it. The ball is pretty hard to keep track of in this game, both when it’s in play and when it goes out-of-bounds.
Second, increase the length of the Fast Break. The court is pretty big and the skill doesn’t take you that far. It’s critical when you need to run to the other side of the court to prevent a basket.
Third, create a separate skill or key for shooting. Too many times when I get an open shot, I try to shoot but instead by accident I pass!
Otherwise, fun game! Discuss
It wasn’t as terrible as many made out. It just feels very clunky, which considering the smoothness of GW2, makes it very unintuitive and out of place.
It needs rewards though. There is no excuse for no rewards or achievements. There are only ever going to be a fraction of players who do anything like this purely for fun alone and it needs something to encourage more than 2 man teams and get it going properly and more regularly
