I’ve achieved this title playing slowly.
Do you have any idea of how long it may take to achieve it speed clearing hearts/wp/sp/vistas?
Would you be interested in doing it again if there was a good reward at the end?

I’m doing map completion with every character anyways because it’s a lot of fun for me, even after the 100th time. But yeah, I’d welcome a bit more of a final reward than just a Gift of Exploration and a Title.

And what’s the average time to complete it knowing where to go?
Oh well that’s hard to say. If I ignore everything else except the PoI’s, WP’s, Vistas, Hearts and SP’s, I’m on 1-2 hours per region. If I collect Crafting Materials and do all events I encounter, 2-4 Hours. So you can do the math to know how long Map Completion will take, including the weeks of waiting for the WvW Rotation.
Maybe around ~50 hours
Mmmm…they could intoruce a system that guarantee ascended pieces for a second completion on characters that already has 100%, this would encourage people to spread again on all maps and instead of losing money crafting they will gain money to invest in the crafting for the remaining equip pieces.
Mumble, but this would be a bit exhausting for people who never got the first 100%…
but if we introduce a reward for the first completion we need to retroactively give something to people who already got the been there, done that… and this is not in the interest of anet.
How could this be managed? Any suggestion?

Impossible to calculate, because it all hinges on WvW. You could get unlucky with your side not being able to take that one keep where the last poi is for months.

True, this could also be a problem, mh…

I do this as well, or will, or hope to. My main and my Ranger did it. I recently got my Guardian to 80 and she’s at about 49% completion, and will probably do it because I enjoy the world. Two more in the wings after that, plus buying character slots some day to try out the rest of the classes.
I did it long ago on my first character (for the title, star, and Gift of Exploration). However, now that I have the title, I have less incentive to complete it on my other characters. It would be nice to have a larger reward for this massive achievement.
You need to do it once on a character for each two legendary weapons you get.

I’m working on world completion right now, and I’ve gotten about 40% in 2 or 3 days, which isn’t too bad for a person with two jobs, a life, and many other events going on.
To answer your first question, I’d say that if you’re super hardcore and have lots of time on your hands, then you could get world completion in a week.
To answer your second, yes. I’d do it again if it had a better reward.
I’ve done it five times, mostly for the little star since it only shows up on the actual character and I like using my GW1 titles. However I have a sixth character sitting at around 92% for a while now and I haven’t really been motivated to finish it at all, even though the last 8% are all fairly low level easy areas to finish. I’m not sure why, guess I’ve just burnt out on it. And I have another two characters who will probably never get it, even if they upped the rewards.
I wish they would give achieve points for getting 100% on any character. Not necessarily the same amount but some, since you are doing the same amount of work on an alt as the first time. It would encourage people to do 100% on more than one character if they did.
At 1 map a day about 25-30 days depending on how lucky/good your server is in WvW.
Thank you for all the answers :*

… again, can you think of a solution about this?
I have a question on the subject of this achievement.. I have my 100% world completion (got the gifts and whatnot) and I have all the “Exploration” achievements, but my “Been there, Done that” is still at 99%. Any ideas on what I may have missed?
Rhonan: Are you talking about the completion percentage after doing world completion? If so it’s because they did add several new WPs and POIs to the game, but if you already have it, then they don’t count against you.
Yes. If you did the world completion once, and got your gift, then you should have the gold start near your name (on that character) and the title (on the whole account). The world completion can drop below 100%, because from time to time new waypoints, vistas and points of interest get added to the game. Last time was 2 new PoIs in Lion’s Arch during the city destruction story arc.
You can check what you are missing by hovering your mouse pointer on the world map view over the zone names. Be aware, that completing those zones again will not yield any additional rewards.
