Guild Wars 2

Well, i had to leave my precious PC for almost the past year. I bought GW2 as soon as it came out. Haven finished the main storyline, but have almost 6-7 chars all max level. My question is. Whats new? what have i missed? What new things have been released? please do explain if you can. Thanks!

A ton of stuff has happened, some of it well received, some if it not so much. But telling you in advance would be pretty hard. There are at two new zones, Drytop and the Silverwastes, Living Story Season 2 started (and is up to like chapter 5), there’s a new player experience, new trait system (which alot of people find frustrating so don’t delete your old characters).

The megaserver was instituted so even mid level zones will have people in them. Collections were adding to the game.

And a bunch of other stuff. Hop in and find yourself a good helpful guild. That’s my advice.

We are in the middle of season 2 of the living story right now. You can purchase the episodes you missed for a few hundred gems, or just read the summaries and jump right in. As long as you log in while an episode is live you get it for free.

The biggest thing is there are 2 new maps now, LA was destroyed (but is slowly rebuilding), lots of balance changes, megaservers, new leveling experience, some new traits, and lots of new weapons and a new armor set.

Just take a look at the forums, people are protesting against the changes (many completeley unnecessary and destroying important parts of the game). You just missed the recent attempt of this company to force us to invest RL money for shop items. They took it back but they are certainly planning something new (they initially removed custum amounts of gem conversion and tried to force you to convert in 400er steps, at the same time they sold items for 300,500, 700 gems). Exept from that we have 1 new area….. after several months. Players mostly still gets ignored. Starter areas got dumbed down, and alot of stuff we loved there got removed. Running animations got removed (unfortunaly the good ones), the game still hates everything exept zerk warriors and alot more. If I would list up everything they messed up this year you would still read this when the next patch comes out.
With other words you missed (almost) nothing positive. GW2 is still the game which removed more things than adding after 2 years.

I don’t think you can get it anymore), a single piece of a 2 new armor sets (currently, with rest of set(s) released piecemeal with rest of LS season2, so at least 10-11 more weeks to get full set) (one is really only a reskin of the other), one new weapon set (amberite, though no aquatic weapons), and a bunch of ‘new’ backpiece skins (that were originally released in China).

Yeah I just got one of the chest pieces so far. I’ve started on the matching legs.

Incredible to see some people claiming that Anet removed content from the game in two years.

A lot has changed. Sadly most content from last year disappeared into oblivion, but this is going to change with LW S2. The game is much more streamlined and enjoyable than before and you are incentivised to experience all of its facets.
