Been gone 2+ months...anything new?
If you quit because of those reasons, then no, I don’t think you’d want to come back.
I don’t think GW2 is made for you.
I came back yesterday to check out the new update since it seemed like destroying LA would make for a cool update.
Nope it’s basically the same as it has been; do the event once in an overflow, fail and then just do it again 10 minutes later. Grind up a bunch of stuff to make a glowy backpack and that’s about it. Oh but this time if you’re not close to an exit when the event fails it auto kills you…yay?
So I’d say jump back on and run the event once, it’s fun the first time but loses its luster after that.
Really the best bet is to just never come to the forums. Reason being majority of people that frequent are people displeased with the game. best bet is to join a guild in game and ask them, from there just play it.
Lion’s Arch is on fire.
That’s different.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

See my comment above, here is an example. Displeased with game, so comes on forums to express displeasure with game. This is not a bad thing since forums are where you can go to state what you dislike.
But again you will not get a proper response, best bet is to go into the game and just talk with people there. Because people enjoying the game, are usually the ones playing the game. Not taking up their playing time by coming on the forums to post about how much they enjoy the game. Or come on to try and argue with the people that dislike the game trying to get them to like the game. Play time is a limited quantity I try to use mine to actually play. I really enjoy the new patch that came out, and patiently waiting for work to be finished so I can get back into LA, to save those citizens.

Ironic. When the release date was announced and after all of the hype and interviews and demos and ’cons…the game looked like the perfect game for me. Told my RL gaming buddies that this one is made for someone like me where I can put the game down at any time and not miss anything or lose “power”(I am way behind in ascended), playing in the open world just because and feel good and rewarded by it(not so much)…etc.
But you may be right, it may not be the game for me. Had LS never entered the game, I might not be as bitter these days. The game changes too much and if you take any time off you miss out.

Yes and its nice to see a change like that. Only took a year.
The change Im looking for is good substantial reason for everyone(or anyone PVE oriented) to play in the open world wherever they choose…not be funneled into one or two zones by the LS. Id want to log in one day and decide to play in Iron Marches and get rewarded nicely for it and be contributing to the world of Tyria or my server in some way, all while playing with random folks in the zone. Reality is: Any server I guest on has these zones empty, I get a measily 12k xp 1.5 silver and 300 karma for an event, and it does nothing to further the world of tyria or my server. So other than my own personal enjoyment, theres no point.
Thats what I was looking for with this game, when I heard of the dynamic event system. Sadly, this is not the case and even though this might have been touched on in a CDI, I doubt we’ll see anything of this magnitude this year.

I have taken breaks from time to time, missed a couple LS events. Do I feel any different, that the game did not wait on me to return from my break? Not really, having 2 week updates keeps things fresh, even if you happen to burn through them in 4-5 hours. This is what was promised before release, an ever changing world. They wanted to change the way an MMO is handled, some may not take to that change at all. This may be the case with you, or it may not. But really you are already talking yourself out of playing just from a few comments on the forums. Just log off forums and play the game for a while.
