Beginner's forum possibly?
Is it restricted to beginners? If it is, how would it be enforced?
If not restricted but for everyone and everyone is posting then how is it different than general discussion?
ANet may give it to you.
I would say that kind of falls under the “Players helping Players” subforum. Most of the time, it’s new players that post there and veteran players that answer, so it’s definitely helpful.
that is what the “Players helping Players” subforum. is for and why it is named as such !
I’m guessing you felt you did not get enough information from your previous query. One great resource is the Wiki; you can even access it in-game by typing /Wiki (topic of choice) into chat.
Good luck.
What sort of questions do you have? Ask them now.
The chat function is incredibly limited. Asking people anything, is almost invariably ignored and the sub forums here have limited information. The forum search function usually returns nul.
I’ve yet to be in a map where someone asked a question that went ignored. The subforums here offer all sorts of info and the wiki offers nearly everything except build advice.
Any time I’ve posted a question here, I’ve gotten multiple answers within 48 hours.
Of course, the search function is terrible (just as bad as that of all 4 local newspapers in my area), so I use google:
e.g. site:forum-en.guildwars2.com “beginner’s forum”

beats me.
But the point is, a forum aimed specifically at beginners, would be a focus aimed at beginners.
The more experienced players would know that their contributions there are intended for beginners.
Then those who find the mundane sooo boring could continue to fan their egos, where they might get the appreciation they desire.
It seems more of a win, win really.
You may find asking on the forums (no matter the sub-forum), or in-game more satisfying if you don’t take the replies personally.
Just because the one poster found Victory or Death ‘sooo boring’ doesn’t mean all Vets feel the same way.
Next time, try creating your own LFG, and you can explain to the potential party member exacting what you are looking for.
Good luck.

Sadly, it seems most found it as boring, if the avalanche of responses is anything to go by.
An LFG sounds wonderful. If only I knew what in The Pale Tree’s name it meant.
But then that is surely demonstrates the point.
Looking For Group. Again, the Wiki is a great resource. You can access it via the ‘Wiki’ link above from these forums.
Most found it boring? One poster said as much. It may be helpful to try not to paint all of a group of players with the same brush.
Good luck.
I think part of the problem with your question about Victory or Death is that you posted it in an old topic about a separate question. I had previously replied to the topic but didn’t look when it came back up to the top of the list because I remembered I’d said all I had to say on the (original) topic and didn’t think I had anything else worth adding.
You would probably have gotten more replies if you’d started a new topic, especially if you called it something like “help with Victory or Death”.
Also the reply you got is good advice. The Mouth of Zhaitan is one of those boss fights that uses very strict mechanics. (If you’ve ever played a Legend of Zelda game it’s a lot like that.) You have to spend most of your time simply avoiding his attacks and picking up a fire orb so you’re ready to use it when you have the chance.
Then when he starts sucking in the air you need to stand in front of him and throw the orb. He’ll inhale it and it will stun him. That gives you a short window to attack. Once he’s moving again you go back to avoiding his attacks and waiting for another opportunity.
How many rounds it will take depends on how much damage you can do while he’s stunned, but he won’t heal so you just need to keep going until he’s dead.

I have the wiki thank you. Almost as confusing as terms such as LFG.
My apologies of I seemed to be painting anyone. It’s my own frustrations, in no small part as a consequence of several years wasted chasing the Dark Lord through Middle Earth.
C’est la vie!

Yes, I was reluctant to start a new thread as my experiences of many similar gaming forums is that these tend to get quickly incorporated into something obscure by one of the OCD mods.
If that isn’t the case here, then such a pleasant surprise.
The problem is before I can’t complete picking up the object, before the monster destroys me. I have upgraded my armour as much as I can afford, to nil effect. It’s not that I especially mind having to restart all the time, but I trying to make an impression on Logan or Caithe, and it doesn’t look very cool not to be keeping up.
That, along with the accompany text, led me to conclude there may be a solo or group option.
But I still can’t quite see what the problem would be to ask for a specific beginners forum.
Issues such as these could then be aired without annoying the rest of you.
Ask all you want, it will never happen.
Anet does not have the capability to fix or improve the forum. It was developed by a 3rd party contract that ANET doesn’t associate with anymore. Search will remain broken and as forum the engine itself, Anet has refused to invest any money and time into developing or purchasing new forum software. Players helping Players is what you/we have.
Those in charge of the forums could create a new sub-forum, but it is unlikely to happen since the sub-forums were consolidated and pared when the forum was previously restructured.
Less is more.
Again, the Players Helping Players sub-forum is the best place to ask for help (whether new or veteran). =)

I was just going to post that suggestion, so thank you for doing so! Player helping Players is a very valuable asset, and I encourage everyone to give that a look.

The best place to ask for advice is a place where those who know the answer would be likely to browse.
I for one, would not go to a beginner’s forum. I am not a beginner. Therefore that would be one less veteran around to answer questions. You may end up with a whole bunch of beginners giving each other possible solutions. Just like when the game first launched and there were no veterans.
In your case it would be Players Helping Players or the Dungeon subforum since Victory or Death used to be done as a dungeon that was scaled down to be soloable (and I’ve done it solo so it is possible to do solo). The latter of which would be hard for a beginner to know unless you had asked.
