So part of the “New Player Experience” involves disabling one of the most important Guardian virtues until after level 10? Guess ArenaNet really hates Guardians… By the time they actually get any defenses, the “New Player” will have dropped the profession in disgust after watching Warriors destroying everything on the map while the guardian sits banging on one thing.

Man quit crying.. Try being a ranger who can’t call his pet back or heal for that matter as it scurries off attacking every NPC grabbing Aggro…. it’s stupid to say the least…

Guardian’s damage is actually superior to Warriors, I’ve been destroying stuff just fine on my second Guardian. I don’t think the lack of Aegis will make people drop the profession, compared to Warrior’s inability to really make use of a burst skill at all

I think all classes are going to see an impact with this.

From what I’ve been hearing you will not need aegis and levels 1-10 have become cotton candy land with no downed state, no condition damage and no dodging. Nothing is a challenge and unless your a three year old messing around on your older brothers account there is no way you can die. The three year running around bumping in to trees and agroing left right and center and not knowing how to play will probably not even be able to die.

I have not tried a low level zone to verify for myself the state but I was already bummed that the difficulty since launch and gone down several times.

Personally I wish difficulty would return to beta weekend 2, now that was fun.

if this is your biggest problem with the patch, then you’re doing pretty dang good.

No, it was just one of the myriad things I noticed when I logged in my keyfarmer. However, I’ll argue that Aegis is one of the things that forms the basis of the Guardian concept: a Mystic Knight with mystical defenses. That shield that kept regenerating itself gave my first guardian a lot of flavor. Yeah, it’s not a gigantic thing in retrospect when we look at everything else that was done to the game today; it’s more symptomatic of the ephemeral “magic” that has been progressively beaten out of it.

Enemies below level 10 may not dish out condi dmg. You can get it if you tangle with an enemy above level 10 even if you are below level 10. So it is probably more important now to be aware of the level of the enemies you are fighting whereas before you could be a little more foolhardy.

New players I do not think are going to notice the difference as much. Veteran players will because we know what we can or should be able to do. My biggest adjustment was the loss of the F2 skill with my ranger. I don’t think I realized how much I use it until I didn’t have it to use anymore.

Aegis is important for any pvers who are willing to go beyond pugging. Providing aegis require deep knowledge of bosses, the perfect timing, and mechanics of gw2 combat system. There are many guardians who would use WoR at the correct time but fail to provide aegis even for him/herself. So not having aegis for guardian is a pretty big deal.

Thanks for clearifying that for me, I know my info was not very accurate. However I still would have to say that there are lots of changes I really don’t like and really just don’t understand.
Instead of just adding information and making tutorials and giving players options on playstyle \ play level. They just removed options from players all over the place. It is really taking the joy out of leveling your charecters, and I’m an altaholic.

Actually one of the best designed parts of the game were the weapon sets as they gave you all the skills needed for combat from the off. Well they used to do, now they are a botched mess until you go up levels.
