You need to press it when they’re on the white line, and just about to enter the circle you’re standing in. Which is also just before they dissappear.

If you push it just as they touch the white line it will be too soon.

I press after they have passed the white line; but, of course, before they disappear.

Lag may cause you to have to use a different time-scheme.

It definitely depends on the capabilites of your computer and internet.
I usually play on a pc with 50+ fps and about 50-70 ping. On that I hit the notes just before they touch the line.

Now… on a laptop using lowest settings I have 70 fps and 0 ping (apparently) I have to hit the notes almost as they touch me… at last well after they have passed the white line.

It’s going to be a bit of trial and error. If you can, I’d suggest trying to base it off of the sound/timing of the music.

EDIT: Oh, make sure your camera is directly above your head, facing down. It makes it a lot easier that way.

I do it as it crosses the white line; look for the bubble popping animation.

As a side note, if you’re having trouble, only play notes you know will pass. This is because mistakes damage you a lot, especially if you try multiple times to play the same note, but playing the correct notes will heal you. In reality, you only have to play a bit more than half the notes right if you don’t panic.
