Q:
Best Gold Metallic dye?
I would say Gold dye for a cheaper option, but i adore Pyre for a gold. Here’s a small example. The helm is pyre so the circlet looks like gold.
On heavy armors, as the second picture, pyre is excellently textured and golden.
And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.

How about illumination I don’t really care about prices
Illumination is also really good. Redemption too. I’d say Redemption is better for gold because it’s more orange while illumination is more yellow.

the new “prosperity” color dye is the best by far….its more expensive buuuuut thats cuz its the best
Pyre without a shadow of a doubt. The price tag says it all – not because it’s limited edition gem store because the other “gold” gem prices are not even close.

RIP City of Heroes
‘Illumination’ and ‘Redemption’.
The actual ‘gold’ dye is anything BUT gold tbh.
I wasn’t really going for a gold colour on my warrior, but it turns out that illumination was really the only choice I could go with. It just looked the best from what was available.
Want to look good for a modest cash outlay then illumination is for you. Wanna go nuts on a limited item like Pyre then knock yourself out.

I’m pretty satisfied with White Gold, Ancient Gold and Mudmetal to accent the metal part of my armor. They also match the metal part of my halo and Meteorlogicus very well.

Nice :P
It depends on the armor. (Not to mention the lighting, and your own personal preference as to what looks good). Different pieces will dye differently, so all of the ones listed here are good in different situations.
Try sorting your armor by MATERIAL, and look through the METALLIC ones. These generally show more contrast, making those sharp metal edges and relief designs really pop!

I use redemption on my warrior. It is good, I do not have it on this character but illumination is also a really good choice.
