Best Homeworld for newbs? (EU)
All PvE is merged with the Megaserver system so it’s not an issue which server you choose for PvE as you’ll be able to play with any other player from that region (NA or EU). The only thing server matters for is WvW so you may want to check out the rankings on the GW2 website or on http://mos.millenium.org/matchups for more info about server positions.
I’m biased and will say join Aurora Glade but depending on what you want to do in WvW then that may not be the best option for you or it may be one of the better ones.

Gw2 doesnt really work like that due to mergaserver technology, merging servers for pve.
Wvw is the only place a server matters. I cant really answer that since I dont wvw much.
Welcome to the game mate.
What can I say about my server, Aurora Glade that could interest you…
>> AG is a very international server, with people from all over Europe and quite a few South Africans as well, so our main map language is English.
>> We are known for hosting some community events often connected to seasonal in-game events, like Mad Queen’s Horrorween and other stuff (e.g. last week we had a fun event on Southsun Cove and in LA to celebrate the new look of the city)
>> The server has its own community funded website at www.auroragla.de, which is home to the event PvE event people and most of the organized WvW crowd.
>> The website also runs its own TS3 server for people on AG (mostly used for WvW).
>> In WvW, we are in the silver league, which is a good spot to get into WvW. AG has experienced PUG commanders, dedicated homeland defenders and some great WvW centric guilds for GvG and large scale fights. We don’t blob and k-train around maps and usually put up a good fight for others.
A lot of maps in GW2 are megaserver maps, so you can play with other people from EU servers too, e.g. for Dungeons or big world bosses that require coordination.
Still keeps a volume of Kurzick poems ;)
Thanks for the info. I went ahead and joined Aurora Glade.
Welcome to the Glade Ballistic. Gorani’s already posted the community site if you want to check that out. Otherwise if you want to add me in game I’d be happy to try and help with questions etc. if I can.

Welcome to Tyria and grats on joining AG. Next you might consider joining a helpful guild so they can guide you through stuff, answer the numerous questions you’re likely to have and help you avoid the pitfalls. Plenty of good guilds in AG or other servers too.
Welcome to the Internet, exposing characters since the early 80’s.
I’ll definitely join a guild and all that good stuff pretty soon. Gonna take about 10 hours first just to get the essential basics down
Yeah, highly suggest you spend a couple of hours just getting a comfortable keybindings. It really pays off in the future.

That’s a good idea to do early on as you then get used to those keys from the start. My most used bind is the X key which I have set to reverse the camera so I can quickly look behind without turning around or rotating the camera, especially useful if running from a mob etc. Lol not that I’m always running from mobs…..

It might be a few days before I join a guild actually I’m using an Astro a40 headset with mixamp 5.8. You can no longer get the cable you need to connect the mic to a PC.
So I’ve gone ahead and ordered a hyper x cloud II, the shipping takes a week. But once that gets here I’ll join a guild.
Love the game btw
