I wanted a character that is deadly in PVP, how I hear, the most complex and fun, with most flexibility character is engineer so I started to play it a few days ago and now I am lvl 10+ .

About race. I just saw that Charr race have some good attack skills like rockets for example and I was thinking that they are important bonus to engineer grenades and bombs, correct me if I am wrong.

P.S. I really want to play engineer, I am engineer (ironically) my self and I like complex style of gameplay. And I really think when playing, that to be a good player on server, if Human race don’t give me anything like an engineer and it is worth the difference to play Charr engineer please tell me, I am a noob but someday I will not, will be sad if my race would be a wrong one from the begining. THX

The race you choose don’t provide any bonuses (they have a couple different race skills, but those aren’t allowed in pvp (and they also aren’t really as good as profession skills)), only the look of your toon (and story).

Well in PVE you can get racial elite abilities, but you can’t use those in PVP. In PVP all races are on equal footing, unless your really splitting hairs and considering things like angles on blast fields due to toon height.

Obviously you should roll an asura, like 90% of all other pvp players, who are pathetically looking for literally any advantage they can get.

Or you can play the race that aesthetically and thematically fits your character, without a concern for silly things like opponents being able to see your animations more clearly.

Side note: With normalized models in ranked queue, this is less of a problem, but idk why anet didn’t implement that setting for unranked as well.

As everyone else stated, race is irrelevant for pvp as you can’t use racial skills. HOWEVER, for pve, if you are considering using a static discharge build then I would go with a charr. Their racial skill ‘hidden pistol’ has an extremely powerful tool belt skill that works really really well for that build. To the best of my knowledge, no other race has any racials worth while.

So you guys, really think that ultimate engineer should be Charr Race ? It looks weird for me through.. is this guys right ?? I really get confused because Idk what can happen in endgame because this, farm is part of the game too.
