What about the pretty sunlight zenith staff? and The Crossing is #1

Well, personally my 3 favorites:

1) Pact staff
2) Bloody Prince
3) Melandru’s Gaze

For me, my top 3 are The Crossing, the Dragon’s Jade Staff, and… actually, I’m not sure on what I’d put as third. Maybe either Delusion or the Dreamthistle Staff. Or maybe that HoM staff with the flowing green energy ribbons.

Highly subjective. I can see by the staves you picked that you love “dark” themes, most likely a necro player. Personally I find those staves highly overrated, gloomy and I cant imagine a “holy” guardian wearing any of those awful deathsticks. Dont get my wrong, I like the skins, just not the theme.

Best staves are those with particles;

Kasmeer, Bifrost, Melandru, Zenith.

You see, when you play a “mage” class like eles or mesmers you need an equally flashy weapon.

Destroyer Staff and the Dragon Bone Staff from Guild Wars 1.

For me personally, it’s Kasmeer’s Staff, Final Rest and Bramblethorne.

My staff is the best

Monsoon. Nice and simple.

I agree, there’s a lot to be said for simplicity. Especially when particle effects are very subtle.

1. Krytan Staff Simple, elegant, with a lovely, soft, welcoming glow that dims in and out when the staff is wielded/stowed.
2. Gnarled Walking Stick Love the magic words scrolling around the otherwise unimpressive wood; really brings out the “ancient artifact” feel.
3. Sovereign Pillar Very Art Deco, though perhaps the glow is a bit too subtle.

I am filled with an endless sadness that Memory of the Sky hasn’t gotten any love yet. (Also available as Strong Avenger’s Staff of Force)

I’m seriously considering building a Wupwup Spire and transmuting the stats onto Memory of the Sky. Man, I love that thing.

Krytan Staff is one of my favorites in the game

I also like the Warden Staff on my Sylvari ele
I have Imryldeen on my human Mesmer
getting Kasmeer ’s Staff for my Sylvari Mesmer- it is very flashy but it matches her lightning catcher backpiece

I guess it all depends on how your character looks

1) Bifrost
2) Kasmeer’s Staff
3) Ascended Staff

Those would be my choices. Although I wish they have nicer interesting staff choices to choose from.

1. Delusion Simple, yet elegant.
2. The crossing Creepy, but the lantern just makes it awesome to me.
3. Krytan staff Also for the simplicity (I’m a fan of most of the krytan weapons anyway for that reason)

There are so many staff skins that are great, but I divide them into what looks best for which profession.

There’s a lot of other skins I like, but I think those are the most appropriate ones for those professions.

A matter of taste I guess

Some of the staffs most commonly listed here I would put on my list of the worst. Kasmeers staff for example I think looks hideous, the only advantage it has is being one of the few staffs whose colors matches the mesmer particle affects.

The other problem is that while a staff may look awesome it doesn’t always fit. I was 90% of the way through crafting The Crossing (and I despise crafting) for my necro when I realized it didn’t really fit how I imagined my necro nor how I had built her look. Sold all of it and stopped crafting for good.

I find it very telling. I personally don’t want the Bifrost because I’d like something more…elemental. Which is why I went with the Dragon Jade Staff. I hope we get more staff options when they release more legendaries. I mean there are 2 legendary greatswords. (3? are we counting Eternity?)

Not in this particular order! I like them all equally I suppose, each with its own flavor.

Hah, I’m not surprised. I think the ascended staves (especially the white version) look better than Bifrost, but my top pick is the scythe skin. I’m contemplating transmuting it back onto my ascended staff.

In my opinion, either the Glyphic staff, the Mystic staff, or one of the steam-punk looking ones with the little electric chamber (forgot the name)

No one said anything about the Fractal Staff which looks amazing!

I like a lot of the skins honestly. But I find that there is such a wide varity (or not so wide) of choices depending on class/race/character design you are going for, that it can really limit you on those choices.

As a Sylvari Ele I love (in no particular order):
Melandru’s Gaze
Ascended Staff design (favorite colors: green and white)
Gnarled Walking Stick
Warden Staff (Sylvari Tier 3 staff)

I like earthy/planty stuff and not overly particle effects. Though glow-y stuff is cool, like Kasmeer’s staff, I just find it hard to place the skin on any of my characters that use staves. :P

Since I like this staff and it matches my outfit, its even better since apparently almost no one else uses it, so it makes it more unique.

The Fractal Staff is the best staff.

IMO, they pretty much all suck. Especially Bifrost.

Ele: only good looking elementalist-themed staff in the whole game: Fusion Staff. there really needs to be a staff variant of Meteorologist.

Necro: Probably has the most options, with scythe, final crossing, pact staff, etc

Mesmer: Has Kasmeer’s staff, which has the awful “i-paid-real-money-for-this” stigma. It’s like looking at someone with one of those 20$ WoW constellation flying mounts. On the other hand, maybe its better to have the negative stigma than to have the only-through-black-lion-chest-BS that the elementalist’s Fusion Staff has going for it.
