Guild Wars 2

So I know there are a lot of variables that have an effect on the effectiveness of professions. But when it comes to clearing maps solo and the occasional dungeon, what profession pulls off berserker gear the best in terms of damage and survivability? What would your top three choices be, and what one would be the best?

Warrior

1. Warrior – Overall, probably the easiest to succeed with. Large HP pool and heavy hitting attacks.
2. Thief – Takes a bit more finesse in dungeons, but with black powder anything that isn’t a champion is super easy to kill.
3. Guardian – AH helps with survivability when you’re getting into the class, though it’s not necessary.

Well anyone can solo maps of any level and only green gear is even needed for higher level maps.

As for dungeons, warriors tend to go zerker and are only survivable it seems with shout/healing/regen traits and utilities, but I don’t play warrior so idk.

Thief single target damage can be extremely high, but little support is offered besides stealth.

Elementalist conjured weapon builds with zerker gear/traits is the highest theoretical DPS possible, and you can scale back the damage traits for water/arcane traits and use a focus for survivability too.

Mesmer pve DPS is best in a phantasm build. Sword/focus/pistol/sword. Lots of reflects, invulns, evades and teleports are available to help with survivability and TW is nice for burst groups.

Necromancer zerker is actually pretty decent, but the lack of cleave on axe and dagger makes trash tough to handle and little utility besides cripple/weakness/vuln is really offered. Condition builds are AoE death machines in WvW though

Guardians probably make good, survivable zerkers with all their reflects and invulns, but I feel like I see most running PVT, and the DPS seems a bit lower than the others.

Ranger, people tend to hate, but my friend swears by them with sword/warhorn, but after looking at all their skills/traits, I don’t really know why people like them.

Engineer grenade or bomb builds are probably great in a zerker set up, but they seem to be more of a hybridy tanky condition class for pve/wvw from what little I know.

i would say thief ….. nice balance if you trait for survival……
