To clarify, that’s the “Pirate” jumping puzzle in LA.

A couple of nights ago I was running my warrior through it by routine when he received the exotic dagger “Moonshank” from the Magnificent Chest. I’m debating whether to keep it for one of my alts or to sell it on the BLTC.

What’s the best thing you’ve had from that chest?

Congrats on the drop! I don’t think this has anything to do with this JP’s chest specifically. Chests seem to be tiered, e.g. Splendid, Magnificent, etc, and the chance to get better items from one is likely dependent on the tier. But still, I’ve only heard of a handful cases of getting exotics from JP chests, so you’re a lucky duck =D

I have had nothing but greens and blues drop from JP chests and i have completed all of them, some even twice

See, that would be some more interesting information. I do all of the LA puzzles almost daily, sometimes on multiple characters, yet I’m guessing there are plenty of people out there who didn’t realise they could be done multiple times.

I usualy do the these in LA at the end of my play day just to make a few extra silvers before bed, I think in all the times I’ve done them I got 1 or 2 yellow items, have not gotten an exotic yet.

It’s been stated in the update notes (I forget which one) that precursors were removed from all chests, so now they’re only a ridiculously rare world drop or a forge in the mystic toilet.

I’m guessing plenty of people didn’t know these jumping puzzles could be done multiple times and still be rewarded for it, but for the time it takes to get it done and the usually pitiful end chest rewards, I’m guessing many people wouldn’t think that it’s worth their time compared to say farming. But many people only do the JP’s once to claim the reward for it as part of their character’s achievements and then move on.

I run the LA jump puzzles everyday. Have recieved numerous rares but no exotic yet.
However my friend got an exotic ring the other day from Troll’s End

Oooo, that’s interesting!
I was assuming that the LA chests had higher chances based on the grade, with Splendid being lowest, Grand being middle and Magnificent highest.
But getting an exotic from a Grand chest piques my curiosity!

I’ve never gotten anything better than a green from a jumping puzzle chest. Or any chest, really, except the holiday dungeons. My luck sucks.

at one point you could do the chests in Overflow and do them again when you got to go to your home server. but they changed that several patch’s ago so you can only do them once per character now.

That is not true.

Colossus dropped from the north JP in Lion’s Arch a few weeks ago. You can absolutely get precursors from chests. There is no reason why you shouldn’t.
