i patched. not gone in as i am waiting for my bf. but yeah, don’t say you can’t Crysto. Some people have gotten in. There are pics already

mine patched really quickly. I didn’t get stuck at all. and that is rare… usually my bf patches fast and i am left waiting

The anticipation is killing me. :-) This has to be the first set of patch notes in a long while that I’ve looked at and thought, “AWESOME!”

Yes, people can patch. I’m in game and have been in for a bit. There are plenty of folks in Divinity’s Reach.

Yes absolutely. Been downloading for well over an hour now and still can’t get in. Amazing servers as usual.

Honestly, I stopped home about an hour ago for my lunch break, patched and loaded without hesitation. I did see a Dev sitting in LA during the short time I was on poking around, so I’m sure they are on it, have patience!

AWESOME!!! We finally have the camera control of a PS2 game. It’s about time. Anet – give whomever did the bulk of the work on this a raise, and a cookie, and perhaps punish him for setting alight the grail shaped beacon, eh?

Only beef is that for some reason I was automatically unrepped from all guilds.

If you have sweetfx or similar program delete the d3d9.dll from the guild wars 2/bin folder and it will work just fine

Awful for the bugs, bugs, and bugs it brought. Luckily the patch was delayed for one week, else, maybe all our characters would have been deleted?

I finished patching. The FoV takes some getting used to, but wow do I love it. The camera changes have made me want to explore southsun cove on my necro. Luckily, he hasn’t explored that part yet, so it should feel like new. As for the shadow weapons, eh, I’m not a fan of the asymmetrical horns and bones poking out from the left and the right.

I’m still waiting on some gallery updates so I can see what the three new faces are for each race before I plunk down some gems.

Oh, and I’m getting guild chat updates in guilds I’m not repping. So that was unexpected.

50% through patch, this First-Person camera change seems best suited for PvE though. I tend to stay to PvP so just gonna have to how the other features feel

Well this was a rather large patch in size. I got to 938MB at 98% when it started having connection issues. Thankfully it finished up from what I can tell.

Seriously ANET, can’t we have a “n of total” download listing on the launcher by now?

I’ll have to check out the new faces. I have a total makeover kit just sitting in my bank right now.

I’ve been on 1% since 10 mins after the patch went live… I closed Gw2, I turned my Pc off and back on… Intensely annoying since i’m on ts and my friends are saying its so cool and they’re sending 1st person views D;

1 file remaining… Just wow…

sweetfx was my issue which is ironic because now that i can get in, i don’t want to play without it.

hope they fix that before the expansion

Gaile – there appears to be a bug where new traits cannot be purchased. could someone look into that, as well as the having to set to offline then online again to get guild chat back?

My client’s got some connection issues and started flickering. After closing and reopening, it patched normally up to 99% complete (all 1GB and 10000 files), but then started getting red-text connection issues and flickering all over again.

I restarted my computer, tried again, and now I’m downloading at as measly 0.1mb/s, with “1 file remaining” at 0% complete. It might get to 15-20mb complete at 0% still, before flickering with a red connection-lost message again.

Could somebody please fire some suggestions by way?

My view is this on the Camera changes:

1st Person is for exploration.

3rd Person is for Fights. There will never be viable 1st person combat in this game. Fights are too mobile to survive without the third person view.

If folks are complaining about the 1st person view in combat, your doing it wrong. I was most looking forward to the angled up 3rd Person camera change.

I have the exact problem :/ Hopefully fixed soon. Might try restarting router if no one gives suggestion and see if that works.

In the words of many before us! “Fix it Anet!”

I have no issues with WvW maps no longer required for world completion.
However, I really feel that removing WvW map completion rewards was a bad choice.

This won’t stop me from playing WvW every now and then, but it would’ve been cool to get a reward for getting 100% at one of the WvW maps, since it’s no easy task to complete.

omg, can’t believe it, that size, must be like 1 GB oz so, am actually at over 500 Mb and it has still way over 6000 foles to load xD

PS. ok 1 GB is exaggerated, my more proper guess would be its over at like 800 Mb , buthats still insane ^^

good lord, what in hell is the reason for this size !! lol, thats like the size of like 3 Living Story Patches together!!

PPPS : first sight, urgh ,BUG ?? are now the Loading Screens changed or what, or is it normal that they are now showed in much smaler sizes, that we see now alot more black background oO

Obviously a few minor problems with the patching for some people. But still, I agree. Wonderful patch. It’s beautiful.

If you have part of the download you will not start over, but merely pick up where you left off. I find this is helpful, at times, in getting a download to complete on what is (as I’m sure you can imagine) a very busy day for the servers.

I just tried that. Was stuck at 99%. Now I’m stuck at 0% instead. Not sure if improvement or not

I’m stuck on Initializing whenever I open the GW2 window. I’ve restarted multiple times.

I’ve been stuck on 99% for ages with 1 file remaining and the launcher constantly flashing

I love the new camera, especially the larger field of view. But I wonder why in in first person view both mouse buttons turn the whole character. I’d like to be able to turn my head only with left mouse button. No need for realism here, I’d like to be able to look directly behind me too, or rotate my head 360 degrees if I feel like it

Another thing I worry about is the limited view of items sold by karma vendors, weapon vendors and such. I’d like to be able to view all the items, whether my current character can use them or not. Sometimes, when doing hearts on low lvl zones for example, I buy stuff that’s not compatible if I want to unlock a skin or a collectible. That’s impossible now, as far as I can tell. If there’s a setting for this, but I just haven’t found it yet, please advice

Feedback note: so far modifications did not persist on relog.

After following the advice to close GW2 and start it up again, I’m currently 106 MB into downloading the final file apparently, with the window flickering madly over connection problems. To think that, when I originally started the game, I thought I’d arrive in Divinity’s Reach in good time to visit the Shadow Behemoth… 90 minutes ago…

lol, so far hating this update, I think a few others are… SINCE WE CAN’T GET ON!
Ok, all better, my rage is out!

FPS drops is insane with the patch

Most of us have been sitting tight at speeds of 20KB/sec here in the EU (im in the UK) with 1 file remaining and considering how big the patch is, that’s a long wait.

Just got this game fully downloaded and started playing yesterday. Now today it’s more downloading. There goes my lunch hour.

Not complaining, just expressing my luck status.

I’m pretty sure my download finished (I had left it in the background), but I’m still stuck on the initializing screen.

I’m sure its a great patch, I wouldn’t know as it’s bugged out and wont download.
Does it do anything about the game breaking lag?

Aside from the fact that it was incredibly slow (70mb FO line) I’m still stuck on 99% and it’s currently downloading at 56kb/s
