Hello!
I have a mouse that happens to have both a forward and a back button on the mouse. What is the best thing I could keybind them for? I toyed with the idea of both weapon swapping and dodging, but those are both already fairly close to the hands…any other idea?
Dodge is definitely a good idea. If you can do it, you can bind the other key to Shift. By binding Shift there, you can use mouse button + number to use your profession skills. For example, you press your mouse button and 1 to attune to fire on an ele.
I have my top 3 buttons (click wheel, plus two next to it) binded for F1-3, since I rarely play any prof that needs to use F4-5 regularly.
I know a lot of people use those mouse 4/5 buttons for dodging and can be pretty helpful. I ended up using mouse 4 for weapon swap myself. I kept dodge on V so i can do the cool jump dodge thing by just mashing V + spacebar with my thumb together.
You could also try binding one to the 180 degree instaturn if you find the need for it. I dunno how useful it is for all classes though but it makes it pretty slick on thief with backward evades like Withdraw and Roll for init if i want to move forward instead of backwards

Same here, looks so much more acrobatic doing that. Plus, dodge is so close to jump anyway it makes no sense to move it when there’s far better uses for two extra mouse buttons. (I have all my skills on my Razer Naga, to free my left hand and right ring finger for movement only)
I have a Logitech G400 with forward/back buttons on the side. I use one of them for dodge because my finger is always on the button and that’s a good one to have always accessible.
I’ve never really decided what to do with the other one. In other games I use it to call my mount, but of course we don’t have mounts in GW2. At the moment it’s take target, but I keep changing my mind on what I want there.
i bound the 180 turn on mine

I wasn’t able to do that, but I did bind dodge, and you’re right, it’s amazing! I bound the other to jump, and my mouse wheel to weapon swap, and it’s great! I’m able to move and collect vistas and waypoints with only my mouse!
dodge and push to talk for voice comms
Stow weapon, cause… duh.
