What do you guys think is the best way for increasing account value. According to gw2efficiency for the amount of time I’ve played I should have an account value of 100,000 but I’m currently sitting at 42,000.

According to GW2 Efficiency, there is no amount of value that you should have. GW2/E just tells you what other registered users have and you should assume that people who take the time to register are far, far more likely to be heavy earners.

Further, it’s entirely meaningless what your account is worth in gold. If you have at leat one character that you like to play and enough shinies to keep you happy, what difference does it make to you? Unlike RL wealth, you can’t actually do more with higher account value.

If after reading above, you’re still really keen on increasing your account value, buy gems with RL money. That’s by far & away the most efficient method.

The fastest and easiest way to increase your account value is by buying gems and then using them to buy account upgrades (more character slots, perm gathering tools, storage expanders, bank tab expansions etc…). But that isn’t necessarily a fun way to increase your account value, nor does it necessarily make the game more fun for you to play.

As for the “best” way to increase your value, there isn’t one. Just play the way you want to play. If that means you’ll be earning lots of money in teh game, then you can use that to further your account (eg by outfitting all charactes in full ascended, getting legendaries etc…). If that means you’ll be a more casual player then don’t expect your account value to rise too quickly, but as long as you are having fun it shouldn’t matter.

Love gw2efficency.com as well. Its an awesome tool and comes in really handy if you are an alt-o-holic packrat. Err I mean fine good trader and guild hall builder.

That said, as said above your account has value if you are having fun with it. Be that with 1 gold or 1 million. As long as you are having fun then you are on the right pace.

I agree with all the others. Account value means nothing to anyone but yourself. I love gw2efficiency.com. It is a great site and saves me a lot of searching on my mules. To be completely honest, my account ranks in the top 1 percent. But that means nothing to anyone, including myself.

I had never looked at my “account value” on gw2efficency.com until I saw this thread. When I saw the value, it meant nothing. What means a LOT to me is that I love this game and I love the toons I have created.

My real account value, to me, is priceless.

I’m not sure how much I would trust gw2 efficiency. Even dungeon token values are off the mark.

I have pretty high account value. Can anyone tell by looking at my chars? Nope. Do I have that much gold? Nope. It’s mostly account bound items, wardrobe, etc that’s only important to me and completely invisible to anyone else.

However if, for some reason, you want high account value then get all the wardrobe, mini pets, gemstore items, convenience items, etc etc that you can and your account value will go up.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Well, consider most players aren’t going to put their API key on the site. Some players also have multiple alts that feed into 1 account.

Also keep in mind stuff like karma and whatnot which is hard to quantify.

I don’t have more than 40k myself which is pretty poor for hours played because I haven’t farmed in forever. But easiest way is to convert gem when it’s cheaper and then buy things on discount. Note that I haven’t played much these past few months; maybe like 2-3 days out of a week and too many long sessions either.

But at least I have captured more WvW camps than 99% of people. That is what really matters.
