Guild Wars 2

The situation:
I’ve farmed dungeons to the point where I can’t take it anymore. I run them with my guild maybe 3 days a week but thats it. So don’t suggest regular dungeon running.
I don’t have the skills nor the willingness to acquire what I need to power trade.
I hate WvW and I’ve given up on tPvP.

I can’t reliably solo Arah P2 right now. I don’t have any problems up to Brie but if I don’t execute it well enough the terminal gets destroyed. Furthermore making a single mistake at Lupi means death, getting 25 stacks, running etc. so the whole selling Arah thing doesn’t seem like something I can consistently pull of. Plus, I might always get kicked from my own instance.

So… what would be the next best thing to do for gold/hour? Farm Cursed Shore? Southsun Cove? As long as I can do it on my own and it doesnt require the 45 minute time investment that Arah P2 is on my thief for a perfect run (!) which can easily go into the 1.5h if I really mess up.

You pretty much ruled everything out right there. World bosses could net you ~2gold/hour. You could try crafting, but I’ve had some bad luck with that in the past month or two.

Playing the Trading Post is obviously the best way to make gold. Might not be the fastest, but it’s the way to make the most amount of gold from.

Probably a bit more depending on drops, but since it’s now 15 minutes between world bosses that’s 15 minutes between guaranteed 50 silver (rare) drops.

Cursed shore (Though it’s recommended to join groups for mass spawn events, not hard though, just type lfg) and play as a staff guardian. If your Mf is decent, you’ll be getting so many rares you wont miss doing world bosses, unless you need dragonite.

T6/t5 mat solo farming, sadly anet seems to be slowly weeding this out. Certain areas will sometimes be stealth nerfed (to the point where you will be lucky to get 10 t5 mats in an hour) and new map mechanics, and addition to make it a very cumbersome thing to do. What I consider good is usually 10-12 t6 mats an hour + 20-30+ t5 mats. 6-12g per hour depending on how lucky you are.

Example

- Most mobs in Dry Top have a lot mat drop rate aside from breeze riders. Dust Mites are good for charged lodestones, but they are only up for a short period of time.

- megaservers. I try to wait until a world event is going on in the map so I can farm without a swarm of people around the area.

I agree with Lambent on Cursed Shore being a good place for solo gold farming. I did it as an elementalist dagger/dagger to tag mobs, or when bored with that as an engineer using the flame thrower. The 6-12g sounds about right with what I was achieving getting the mats and selling them.

The key wasn’t tagging champs but to hit large groups of minions. The champs were just a nice gravy on the side.

In Cursed Shore, good events to head for would be:
- Temple assault event chains. Melandru, Arah, Grenth. These take priority! The dragonite was a nice on the side too with Mel/Grenth.
- The only defense event worth hitting was Arah. Defending Melandru or Grenth doesn’t help ya at all for drops.
- Plinx event chain.
- King’s tomb escort event chain.
- Jofast event chain and waypoint.
- Nearly all of the waypoint defense and assault events. Pentitent, Gav, Shelters, Anchorage. The R&D one though isn’t a very good WP to defend or assault since it just is tar elementals.

The above should keep ya busy most times. In between, keep an eye out for these champs to keep the loot incoming. If you have a large group on the above other events, you will get more champs than these individually which is why I put these as fallbacks.
- Archmage (east of Caers)
- Ooze/giant (north of Meddlers)
- Rotbeard/megalodon (farthest south WP)
- Drake (north of R&D, near where Plinx starts)

I have 307MF baseline, so maxed out. Guess Cursed Shore it is. Ty for the answers so far!

I actually know a guy who made over 3000g from dungeons runs alone. I just can’t comprehend how manages to keep dungeons dungeons for that long, his attention span must be infinite.

Well, during my prime time I made ~50g from dungeons every day if I sold all the materials I got. So that’s 20 days worth of farming for 1k gold, which doesn’t seem that bad. And then I pick up the FGS, press 4 and forget which boss we’re actually doing and I ask myself why <_< …

get 36 characters lots ( i think that is max … if not make the max possible amount ofc)
level them all to lvl 21
place them in the LA pirate jp
loot everyday
hope for many silver doubloons
sell and make profit for relogging 35x per day

ofc with the gems from buying the 30 extra character slots (24.000 gems normally or 19.200 gems if on sale)
you could get ~2200 gold (or ~1770 gold if you take the “on sale” price)

Farm platinum ore, iron ore, lemongrass .. or Arctodus in Frostgorge for T6 mats.

Iron ore prices however are sinking now.

Material node farming, solo dungeon paths and sell them (harder the path the more money you can charge), play the trading post, and/or kill mobs in high level zones and hope for bags/t6 materials.

Guess the world doesn’t have enough cm P3 sellers, so I might add this to my rotation when CS becomes super boring or when I see that the CM demand is so high that I dont know what to do with the money.
