Better OOC weapon swapping
Personally…in answer to your closing question…I have a small 12 slot inventory bag set up as the top storage for my characters and holding just spare weapons and key revive/repair/teleport/food items.
A quick right click and weapons swap slots when needed…the current/replacement weapons exchange places, so not had any problems with things getting ‘lost’ in general inventory slots. As I play mainly Elementalist this was the best alternative to actual ‘swap’ buttons I could come up with and it seems to work fine for me.
I also have two ‘safe’ bags set up as the bottom two inventory areas to hold spare armor sets with different rune setups for different situations. I find it handy and it confuses the kitten out of folks when I switch because quite a few look identical (I carry 6 armor sets with me).
It kittens me off every time I switch from sceptre + focus to staff and the focus ends up somewhere between the loot. I’d be happy for any solution to this. Ofc switching between sceptre + focus and staff without the need to open inventory or hero-panel, just by pressing a button, would be fantastic!
Having dedicated slots for the possible weapons the char can wield would be awesome. One implementation would be the weapon sets we had in GW1, but with the weapons not taking up inventory slots. Another option is more or less what OP says.
Perhaps the only RP-oriented guild on the server

Yeah, I though about this a long time. Along with additional side bars for food, gadgets, minis, toys, tonics etc. Why in hell wouldn’t they add this. Arenanet is so eager to defend their clean and slick GUI that it hurts the gameplay and comfort of an MMO. Almost every MMO has optional sidebars exaclty for all the stuff we use often but have to open the inventory and search the thing we are looking for. It’s really annoying.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Couldn’t agree more.

To answer your question about losing gear in inventory on swap. You can buy the exotic bag from fractals. It costs a lot of relics but it prioritizes exotic loot there. Then when you switch from dual to 2hand (assuming you have full exotic weapons) the second weapon goes into the exotic bag if there are open spaces in it.
It’d be handy to have a Bound bag that acts similarly to equipment/etc bags. Something that could shuffle off exotic/ascended gear that it knows you’ve been wearing would be really beneficial in gear swapping.

I’d kill to be able to right click on an off hand weapon (one that can be a main hand like dagger or sword) and be able to set it to ALWAYS be an off hand weapon. That way I can just double click it and go, instead of having to right click it make sure it’s the right one with the right sigil.

Since there is no bag than can hold ascended + legendary that won’t help much.
Out of combat weapon swap would be great for my elementalist. I swap between dual dagger and staff a lot and it would be nice if my other dagger didn’t get mixed with the loot.
I’d say we just need templates. Ideally something that could be as simple as a weapon swap or as complicated as a weapon / armour / trait swap. Bag issue is interesting however… maybe introduce bags which won’t be autofilled, like a separate storage for gear swapping.
Can we just have a right click to equip rings and accessories

Any chance of something like this?
It would help a lot with losing track of items when switching between two-handed and one-handed/off-handed weapons.
Having a slot for every weapon type available to your class would avoid this entirely.
Do keep in mind that engineers and elementalists would not be able to weapon swap in combat at all, and other classes would have to assign a main and secondary set.

Any thoughts on this?
Any better ways to prevent lost items when switching two weapons with one?
