Quote from locked topic. (Why do you lock topics that are constructive and well thought?)
“The community interfacing is very dull and always the same. As an MMO the community interface needs to be strong to ensure the community is kept up to date. Letting people know about the details of this patch 1 week before release is not keeping people up to date. A solution to this would be to ask the community on polls and login polls about what they think of an idea is before they implement it. By doing this they would know immediately before they started to spend time to implement something that is was not good and would cause chaos if they do implement it.”

I couldn’t agree more. The game developers of Path of Exile are actually doing this. (Small indie game)
It’s called co-creation and alot of companies are starting to open their eyes to this.
I would almost say, that simply throwing a product/design feature out there without knowing how it will be received is just plain stupidity.

There will always be players who are unhappy
and they are always the loudest regardless if they are the majority or not

so let’s say a poll was released (hypothetically)
and a majority voted in favor of the new gear

these forums would still be flooded with angry topics

toss a few trolls in the mix and you got one hell of a party

Completely agree with this, makes sense to see if the players actually want something before forcing it upon them.

I’m a big supporter of more developer and designer transparency. It can only make the game better to get player feedback on all levels.
