Big TY to Colin
That was a heartwarming read. Thank you for sharing that with those of us that don’t regularly hang out on reddit (or FB).
Give Colin a hug for me too the next time you run into him. lol.
It’s certainly a different picture of life at Anet than some people try to paint. Not really surprised to be honest. I’ve always had the utmost respect for Anet as developers.

It’s almost like devs are just human, have normal lives outside of developing a game, similar problems, and so on.
They are human, and have lives just like us. I know sometimes I give them a hard time and make them feel like they are crap. But I do respect them, and the work they do for us. I think seeing the human side of them is a great thing for us as a community.
Maybe it would be a good thing to have a monthly employee spotlight, where we can get to know each of the team members and see what its like to be in their shoes? Im not talking about the corporate editing of a put together article here. I think those are fake no matter how well put together they are. Im talking about things like this article. The employee wrote himself… THAT… is what I would like to see more of.
It doesnt have to include very personal things like Colins. It could just be about daily routines and things they think about and do at work… maybe their dreams and hopes for themselves and the company… the important part is, the employee needs to write it, not a reporter doing an article.
just a thought.
We all know that behind bits and bytes, there are people.
Beyond computer development, there are lives and stories.
We could all be so grateful for the fact that everywhere around us theres a person with a story to tell, and a friend with the same troubles and secret wishes.
There are people alone in this world, so alone that if we told them that we play a game involving millions of people around different corners of the world, but our lives are so full and busy that we rarely have the chance to meet anyone, they would not believe us.
So, i am a bit more grateful to have the chance to read this and get to know a bit more of someone i have never seen before, but that impacts me everyday.
Ty to the OP for the post.

I think Colin is great. I like Josh very much.
But, I must have missed the part about Colin’s great deed. It seemed that Jeff (who is no longer with ArenaNet) was the one that gave the chances to Josh.
There is mention of Colin and Mike Z equally being open and concerned about work-mates. That’s great.
Maybe I need to read the post on FB again. =/
That is a very nice read.
