Where did this bikini come from? I must of missed something. Was it a gemstore item or something?

Sadly, no. It’s an NPC thing, nothing more. The hat was a gemstore item though.

They never made it for players. It’s been requested many times before though. Certainly would be cool to see as an outfit, perhaps with some more tailored designs and not so simplistic.

Looks like Southsun. My guess, without going out there, it’s one of the NPCs in a bathing suit that’s are on that beach. I’ve never noticed one wearing that hat, though it’s been a while since I’ve looked, like a couple of years.

Googled it. It’s an NPC labeled as tourist on a Southsun beach.

There’s npcs on broom sticks zooming through LA, so it’s not hard to believe that there might be npc’s with other such gemstore items.

I’d probably buy as many swimsuits as I can afford for both my male and female characters, I mean sword-master Faren also looks kinda dashing! This is of course assuming that they aren’t exclusively a part of bundles that come with a glider, a weapon skin, a total makeover kit and some dyes.

It’s pretty funny that you mention it because bikinis are actually less prevalent in such cultures.

Star Trek Online has a VERY fun summer festival. You can get swimsuits, power board race, and do a lot of beach activities. I would love to see swimsuits and have a summer party on Southsun Cove!
Just some fun relaxing events not the tiresome epic ones that NEED groups to play.

Just some exaggerated sarcasm. In the past, any time someone would inquire about “skimpy” armor, it would turn into a battleground. Kinda surprised it hasn’t happened yet. Good on you, anet community… Good on you.

Been requested so many times for swimsuits, we need them. Look at the Charr swimsuit when you get the chance. Those tight swimming trunks and THAT PERFECT BUTT! <3

I think it is the inverse, since more tyrannical places seek to limit choice and protect people from themselves. But basically this is one of those internet triggers that one should not delve too deeply in.

Therefore, swimwear in the name of justice! Because swimming in one’s undies usually isn’t a good idea anyways.

I’m really tired of having the weird fetishes of modern game developers shoved down my throat.

I’ve been making this rant for a few years now on several different MMOs…

First we had to go through years of giant freak-out shoulders like somebody had watched too many 80’s “power suit” fashion shows and got obsessed with it… We still have that, but after some nasty fighting on the WoW forums years back, they relented and let us hide their freakout… and other games followed suit.

Now its butt-flaps… Somebody watched too many 50s genocide movies (cowboys slaughtering Italians in “native makeup” with buttflaps on)… And now we’ve got some weird kink going on obsessed with flaps… Not just in GW2, it seems to be in all the new MMOs…

Who’s idea of fashion is this?

Somebody needs to get with it on things and move forward…

Its pretty obvious the players don’t like this. Male toons go to great lengths to find some kind of top that doesn’t give them a bad stereotype cover over their crotch or a trenchcoat…

Female toons… almost all wear one of the same 3 or 4 tops with a selection of about 3 pants if on medium, and few if on light or heavy…

Yeah, I’d like a bikini too – if only to get some choice.

We don’t need the weird ‘working-girl’ clothes of games like Tera or Blade and Soul… but some regular pants, shorts, bikinis paired with shirts, halter tops, or even bikini tops… for variety… might be very nice.

Even for plated armor… there’s no need for a butt-flap on EVERYTHING…

This is one thing I like about FFXIV, that game finally relented and added a few non-buttflap choices, and then let people transmog to them… and it even has bikinis, that look normal, and not like you’re “working it” as Tera and etc… do…

This game could definitly use some weird ‘kitten’ from Tera. You can count on one hand the amount of sexy male armor in the game where as Tera is practically an even ratio on Elves and Castanics even though people act like only the women are dressed provocatively.

These are the things I thought outfits were going to be for. I would have probably bought a few too. I had hoped, when outfits were coming out, that they would be the town clothes/casual wear/beach wear/etc that my characters would wear outside of battle…

Unfortunately they decided to make outfits stand-ins for armor… I do not support that and the only outfits I ever consider buying now, but still haven’t since the rest are too decorative- not appropriate for day to day wear- or too similar to armor sets, are the chef and noble.

Not to mention the pricing is disgusting… If an armor set is 800 gems and outfits are considerably easier to make then outfits should have been 300-500 gems instead of 700. This is why I haven’t picked up the noble and chef outfits, they are too kitten ed expensive in my opinion.

Or at least a set of invisible armor (now that we have an invisible boots skin). My male engineer would suit having no top on, he’s sick of all the trenchcoats.

Been asking for this for far too long. So it is with the return of our town clothes as armor skins. Dev’s, if you are listening, this would be something good will and positive feelings about the game. Which is sorely needed atm.

We also need Lady Kasmeer’s bikini.

Actually more than one pair of actual pants for heavy and sort of pants for light armor (both gem store items btw) should be higher on the to-do list.
And medium armor tops that have no coats attached that are either in the gem store or very much midriff baring.

As long as they were a reasonable price.

I don’t think they could charge more than 200 gems for just a bathing suit alone and if they added more, then they might lose sales, if people didn’t like the “more”.

What they could do, is make a “beach bundle”, which could include a dyeable bathing suit and other beach accessories (i.e. to be set down – not to be worn), like a beach towel, a pair of flip-flops (that’s the UK name for them – not sure about the US one?), a colourful beach-type drink (can’t use the actual name, on here) in a glass and various beach toys. xD

I need to stop giving them ideas…

Swimshorts for males and bikini for females for legs, flip-flops for feet, a shell necklace for chest armor on males and giant shells for braw for femalez, and bracelet for gloves, or swimming floatiez and headband goggles for head and a towel for shoulders. ;3 Some variations of each even~

Then we’ll be all set for when they finally complete underwater content and maybe one day they’ll add an Unending Ocean expansion. ;x

I don’t get why they don’t add different underwear and swimsuits. It’s not like it’s inappropriate for the game, you CAN run around in underpants… They could either add statless slots for underwear and swimsuits, or add as outfits/skins (preferably skins). I’d buy every one of those they release…
